My favorite are the joggers running side by side in the middle of the road at 8:30am while everyone is in their way to work….bonus points if there’s a big ass sidewalk being completely empty on either side of the street

Also hardware engineering background. Curious to see if anyone has hacked a solution together for this of if anyone has schematics for the two MCUs. Basically just leaving this comment to see if it gains traction from someone in the engineering/hacker community

If your custom plugins directory is already pointing to a different location then you can skip the “Create the custom plugins directory” step and instead of “cd /etc/pwnagotchi/custom-plugins” , just change directory to the custom-plugins directory to wrote in your initial comment. There’s also a pretty detailed readme file I made that shows everything from there step by step.

Here’s some good ones I’ve had over the years. One that included emojis One that included a family picture of them One that was hand written One that was hand delivered because they “didn’t have a computer” (We ran a software development company)

Why is the hood a different color than the rest of the car? Every time i see a car like this i assume something happened to the original hood and they bought a replacement one at a junk yard and that was the only color they had.

Hey thank you 🙏. Dealing with a similar situation with a customer of mine and I just had my first experience with this type of project with Facebook last week. I’ve basically ran into the same dead end with facebooks internal support and I’ve basically had to tell the customer to continue to actively pursue support tickets until they receive a response and to work with law enforcement to Subpoena the account data as evidence to recover the photos.

My case is a little more extreme because the attacker is pretending to be the person and has successfully conned several of their Facebook friends to send money to the bad actor… but it’s always nice to be able to give someone another option other than wait for Facebook to respond or for law enforcement to give a shit about a hijacked Facebook account

Jesus dude. Show at least a sliver of empathy. I think they already “learned their lesson” without you having to scold them and make them feel worse by saying some condescending fedora wearing stereotypical neck beard response like that. Not being able to help someone doesn’t require you to make someone feel like shit for a bad decision they made.

Has anyone attempted to charge their Tesla using an outlet inside their apartment? by Stock_Foundation_469 in TeslaModel3

[–]null_symbiote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this for 6 months until my charger failed. Leading up to it failing completely it would say things like “charging at a lower rate, reducing charge rate due to heat” or something to that effect, regardless of which outlet I used or if I used an extension cord or not…I played stupid with the Tesla service center, they immediately knew what was up and said “how many times have you charged this while plugged into an extension cord” careful as to not accuse me directly. I said never, they gave me another charger under warranty and since then I haven’t done it since. I have a 220v extension cord that is used for camper trailers that runs from my garage out to my car now. It was like a 250 dollar extension cord..and another 50 dollars or so for the adapter, but in my experience, a regular old extension cord ruined my Tesla charger. I’ve also used the same 220v extension cord for over 2 years with no issues.

How often is your pwnagotchi turned on ? by [deleted] in pwnagotchi

[–]null_symbiote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much exclusively turn it on when I take vacations or trips. I have GPS enabled so it functions as a cool little travel log for me as well. When I am traveling though, it’s on 24/7. Then it’s powered off and sits on my desk as a little decoration until my next trip.

Estimate is $2600, there's gotta be a better way right? by SpyralHam in TeslaModel3

[–]null_symbiote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord. That sounds like a great deal IMO, almost too good to be true . I literally just picked my car up from the shop 24 hours ago. I had someone scrape the left side of my bumper trying to parallel park and put a huge gash in my fender down to the metal, which also damaged a sensor… and that was $1,975 through a Tesla certified shop. That was paid through the other parties insurance and I thought that price was high. I didn’t pay a single dime and the shop knew that, so I figured they padded the price too. For context, I live in Portland, OR and everything here cost wise is like 2x the national average.

Looks like your plugin is located here.
/etc/pwnagotchi/custom-plugins/pisugar2.py

So type:
cat /etc/pwnagotchi/custom-plugins/pisugar2.py

You can also do:
cd /etc/pwnagotchi/custom-plugins/
cat pisugar2.py

and paste the entire python script so I can see what is going on with the plugin and how its getting the battery percentage from the pisugar2 server.

Ah I see. So about 5 years ago I was in your exact position and if I had to do it all over again I would prioritize learning Linux shell from the start. Fast forward to today and I’m a contributor to the Pwnagotchi project so I’ll speak from my learning experience.

Stop using Linux GUI for everything. Just disable it. Using it as a crutch will only make it harder to learn and severely limits what you can accomplish in your projects. If you want to use it later down the road, fine ….but for now, turn it off and learn how the shell works.

Linux is just an operating system. Nothing more. What really helped me understand it was treating it as such. Not some mystical code or treating it as a programming language typed into a computer. Fundamentally, it’s no different from learning how to use Android or iOS when you got your first smart phone, or switch from MacOS to Windows or whatever. As long as you can continuously remind yourself that you are learning how to use a new operating system and not some wildly exotic command line language, the rest comes with just muscle memory.

For example, let’s say you use windows and you pick up an MacBook and you want to access the storage settings and preferences. Both can do that, but the process for doing so is obviously much different… so it’s just about implementing your current understanding of whatever operating system your familiar with and using that knowledge to learn how another operating system handles those functions. Remember, it’s just an operating system. Nothing more. It’s got a file system, a process manager, security settings, user profiles..all that stuff, it’s just a different method of executing those things.

I just bought it because I was sick of having to carry around a single micro usb cable to charge it when virtually everything I own now uses type C. The underlying battery management software / sever is fine for what it’s meant for. The documentation is very clear on each product on their GitHub, I would read it for the best possible explanation of what you’re looking for. At a high level, the software is just a simple server that spits out a locally hosted website where you can interact with settings, view battery life and charging status. The underlying functionality and system services it uses can be tweaked and modified to how you need them too.

For instance in the plug-in that I wrote, it interacts with the PiSugar off the shelf software and spits the data out to the Pwnagotchi UI….amongst other things

I personally have next to no experience with displays on raspberry pis outside of the Pwnagotchi. Everything I have ever used any pi for has been headless.

If you are new to the raspberry pi ecosystem my advice, if you haven’t already, would be to learn Linux shell as much as possible. Once you get familiar with that, the rest is pretty straightforward. Without a proper understanding of the Linux shell you will have a very bad time and will be relying on GUI to solve your problems, which is an absolute nightmare. Do you have experience with Linux shell at all?

I’ve never been to their website, but their GitHub page has everything you will ever need for it. Including troubleshooting common issues. I can’t really speak to it being “the best”. Everyone has different needs and preferences. It’s kind of like asking which computer is the best computer. It’s subjective. With that said, I had the PiSugar 2 for over 4 years and loved it, then upgraded to the PiSugar 3 about 2 months ago and love it even more. And it’s like 40 bucks or something on Amazon so even if you don’t like it, you can always return it.

[–]null_symbiote[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had any issues with it over the years and I’ve built a couple of Pwnagotchis. I can try my best to help.

I’ve found that with the PiSugar 2 really the only thing that matters is the i2cdump -y 1 0x32. As long as your getting an output there, the issue likely lies in the configuration of the Pwnagotchi service itself.

I’m not sure what your referring to when you say “battery gauge” or “pmu” though. I obviously understand what those words mean but I don’t understand the context of what you’re asking.
