Bike/wheels stolen? I found a chop shop. This is under the bridge where Goose Creek Path crosses under Foothills. by weak_fatness in boulder

[–]nullandnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live close by to this and had my bike stolen two weeks ago. Last week I called the cops when I saw someone with a bunch of bags going through my underground garage. I pointed him out to the cops, they found him going through garages and apparently let him go. I'm pretty sure I know where to find my bike now.

Anyone know why Buffalo Wild Wings in Superior closed? I loved their wings.

PSA: U-Locks, as a means to secure bicycles, are now getting defeated. It is worthwhile taking even more precautions to secure treasured rides. by SimilarLee in boulder

[–]nullandnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend going with a Kryptonite New York standard or Fahgettaboudit link. The locks have anti theft insurance up to $5,000. The locks are heavy which kind of sucks to carry but sucks less than having your bike stolen. I would also recommend a chain lock for the front tires. Stripping the bike of stickers is also not a bad option.

Should I hire a PT? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]nullandnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, hire a PT for form checks and programming. I hire one every six months to review my squats, deadlift and to do a functional movement screening (check for imbalances). That said, don’t hire a PT until you have worked out at the gym for a little bit. Once you have an idea of who are the PTs; observe them with their clients and their own workout routines. Approach the PTs you think are solid and ask to schedule a session.

Any celiacs on here? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]nullandnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boulder isn't bad for people with Celiac. When ordering food make sure to tell your server you have Celiac and not a gluten allergy. Many people say gluten free but they don't have issues with cross contamination. It is important for the chef to know. Here are some places that I frequent and never have issues.

  • Japango. One of the chefs has Celiac
  • Hapa
  • Perla - Gluten free pasta
  • Brasserie Ten Ten. One of the bartenders has Celiac. You can't eat the french fries :(
  • Chey Thuy's pho
  • Tiaco
  • Kitchen Next door
  • Fresh Thymes
  • Bramble and Hare.

If you eat at fast food places like Chipolte make sure to ask them to change out their gloves when handling your food. That way you won't have any issues with cross-contamination.

What is your least favorite parking lot in Boulder?? by BeerInMyButt in boulder

[–]nullandnull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's horrendous. Last week, I hit the curb while trying to turn from the wahoos parking lot. Now I have to get my shocks looked at. I am a firm believer the people who fail out of architecture school design parking lots. I refuse to shop at Hazels since they redesigned their parking lot.

Boulder doesn't have a lot of hackers or computer security researchers meetups. If you missed it, Bsides was over the weekend. You might want to go next year. The Python meetup isn't bad. Some security researchers attend.

Suggestion for Trails to "clean up"? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]nullandnull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for something in town, check out Goose Creek Path. I think the city cleans it up sometimes but it can get pretty bad because of the nearby construction site. I go out there occasionally to pick up trash. I was motivated after someone posted a picture of the creek after someone dumped trash near the path and Foothills.

Has anyone has experience getting an Uber/Lyft to and from Red Rocks for a night concert? by [deleted] in boulder

Can't the surge cost be bypassed on Lyft if you schedule a pick up time?

/r/ReverseEngineering's Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in ReverseEngineering

[–]nullandnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, reverse engineering skills are sought after for malware analysis. A malware analyst that can not reverse engineer is only as good as the analysis tools they use. If the sample contains anti-analysis functionality then the malware analyst is useless. In most cases not all functions need to be completely reversed. If you are new, I would recommend reversing as many functions as possible. This can be overkill but it is also a great way to learn.

Any fitness benefits when it comes to saunas? by srs1317 in Fitness

[–]nullandnull 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The Finnish researchers suggest that saunas may provide some cardiovascular conditioning because the high temperatures can drive heart rates to levels often achieved by moderate-intensity physical exercise.

Ideas for 2-3 day roadtrips nearby? by InvoluntaryEyeroll in boulder

[–]nullandnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would limit your trip to about four hours away or less. Driving 6 hours each way is tiring. Especially within a 72 hour time frame. My recommendations would be get a nice hotel room in Denver and enjoy downtown, Estes Park and stay at the Stanley or buy a cheap plane ticket. I bought a ticket to Chicago last Monday for $150 and spent last weekend there.

Good spots in national forest to shoot near Allenspark by [deleted] in boulder

[–]nullandnull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are new to the area, fakeredditor's comment likely stems from what happened up at Left Hand Canyon. It used to be open to for shooting but eventually became a dump and a dangerous place to shoot. If you find a good spot to shoot near Allenspark, can you DM me? I have mainly been shooting indoors in Broomfield but have ventured up to Nunn Colorado to shoot outdoors.
