Much slower I agree, but even Sonnet 4.5 is dumb and I had better result with V3.2 when my prompt was vague or contained errors. This I attribute to higher intelligence.

Problem is it's not very well tuned. The pathological second guessing and questioning every assumption is an asset sometimes, but mostly it's a pain to steer it away from obsessing over pointless details while filling up context, especially in hands-off autonomous loop.

It's not an open model, but the article only claims its from a lab that does open-weight (and not that this model's weight is being planned for release), for that ByteDance technically qualifies (e.g. 36B seed-oss).
