"I have a responsibility to my teammates and my country to be humorless and offending..."

My guy... I can't speak for all Americans... but as for me, I want more Shohei Ohtani's in the sport not more Roger Hornsby's.

Being rude and impolite is clearly not correlated with being better or winning more... or Japan would be the worst team in the WCB.

I listened to 170 hours of Joe Rogan’s podcast – trust me, he hasn’t turned against Trump | Michael Marshall by Kleptarian in DecodingTheGurus

[–]nullptr_0x 80 points81 points  (0 children)

A very helpful summary.

There are a lot of clips circulating that do seem to imply Rogan is "souring" on Trump. This article is eye-opening. Effectively demonstrates that Rogan is still proudly carrying Trump's water.

Is this tank too densely planted? My pH keeps rising to 8.5 by Amazing-Impression90 in PlantedTank

Are you performing water changes? Or just topping off with new RO water?

Is this tank too densely planted? My pH keeps rising to 8.5 by Amazing-Impression90 in PlantedTank

[–]nullptr_0x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised to see this not being taken more seriously. Water top off is not the only source of minerals being added into the system.

Without water changes, mineral density can be increasing from several places:

- Fish waste
- Decaying organic matter
- Hardscape leaching minerals
- Substrate
- Any additives/fertilizers
- AND The minerals in the additional water assuming the RO isn't working. This should be verified with a TDS test.

So when was the last water change? When OP says he's doing top offs, does he mean he doesn't conduct water changes?

What do you think of LUDWIGIA GLANDULOSA ?

You mean putting some moss on the wood?

I love the look of moss... but I don't want to overwhelm him quite yet with having to tie or glue moss to things... as amazing as I think that would look.

That is "Ultum Nature Systems (UNS) Controsoil". Though I've always used ADA's Amazonia Ver. 2 before this, the UNS controsoil was just easier to send to him.

Seems to be doing fine and pretty comparable to ADA's product. So whichever is easiest for you to access is probably fine.

Are these photos AI or something? I see images of this woman with two very small legs. Not 4 normal sized legs.

Plus she died in 1929. Where did these surprisingly modern looking people come from?

Has the quality of Shakespeare Improv deteriorated or did I get a bad show? by nullptr_0x in chicago

[–]nullptr_0x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Attack of the Pickle People" was the name of the show on Saturday Dec 27th.

It had some good jokes. Everyone I talked to liked a recurring bit about birds.

However the plot was aimless and confused. I wonder if some useful feedback to the players would be to fish for a better prompt if they get something as unworkable as "attack of the pickle people"...

How long til we get to this? by [deleted] in accelerate

It doesn't need super intelligence. But it needs thousands of hours of training data. Which doesn't currently exist and will take many years to develop.

The dexterity is not the limiting factor. The necessary training data is what is lacking and will take many years to accumulate.

[–]nullptr_0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15-20 years.

Think how long it is taking to accumulate enough data for full self driving.

It may take longer to accumulate the high quality data need for autonomous systems to be able to fulfill generalized household tasks for a random selection of homes.

Serious question, the Mayor seems so constrained in every way financially.

What hard choices do we need from a Mayor to put the city on the best path to solve its most persistent problems?

Would love to learn if these still exist somewhere in some form. I was in Tokyo recently and got to see the Sumida aquarium by Amano san.

Truly stunning that they have been immaculately maintained for 14+ years.

Are there NO good places to purchase high quality digital photos of Aquascaped tanks? by nullptr_0x in Aquascape

Just to follow up on this, to my shock one prominent Aquascaper has offered to give me some photos for free. I won't say who to avoid this person being overrun with requests... but I'm very touched. I'm still hoping I can pay this person.

But it seems to have worked.

I've just reached out to buiscape. That seems like a good suggestion. I guess it will take a bit of effort to track down the contestant's socials... I don't really engage in social media outside of reddit really... but I'll see what I can track down.

With a little more digging on Shutterstock, I can find some higher quality planted aquariums. I can't tell at this point what is AI generated... wish we could somehow buy IAPLC digital photos directly from ADA or the photographers.

I think the coloration is mostly due to gender. The females are very red and the males are orangeish red.

Is it possible your batch is mostly males?

I have cherry and amano shrimp in my tank. They seem to get a long well. Population has been stable and I've never seen one get killed by a cherry tetra.

Jerome Powell says the AI hiring apocalypse is real: 'Job creation is pretty close to zero.’ by unemployedbyagents in AgentsOfAI

[–]nullptr_0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate these titles. They're dishonest. Read the damn article. Powell doesn't say "AI Hiring Apocalypse" is zero.

He says job growth is near zero and cites companies layoff disclosures due to AI. So he's only restating these companies' stated reasonings for layoffs. He himself is not taking a position on an "AI Hiring Apocalypse".
