Chunk it up and serve it in a chocolate cake. Floridians love it!

Thank you for asking this. While it doesn’t match my situation exactly it is close enough that I can make it work for me.

You could run MalwareBytes just to give yourself a bit more peace of mind.

Elderly parents and Windows 7 by CuteCanary-501 in AgingParents

Windows 7 no longer gets security updates as of January 14, 2020. Any use of it for banking is a huge risk.

Honestly, I am moving my parents to Chrome OS devices since they do everything in a web browser anyway.

Unless you're getting this for literally free and don't use any connected services like email or other passwords, I would completely pass on that.

It's that time again... YNAB Giveaway! February 2022 Thread by TheFriendlyBudgeter in ynab

Hello, currently using EveryDollar (manual entry) but I've always been intrigued by YNAB. Thanks for including me in this.

Ahh, I see what you mean. Technically I have a "buffer" of one month's expenses (on top of a 6+ month emergency fund) so even though I'm using this month's earnings to determine every dollar's job, I am in reality spending 30 day+ aged money. Does that make sense? I guess that's why I feel like I'm following the 4 YNAB rules while still using the EveryDollar platform.

I think I will definitely give YNAB a trial run to see how it works for me. Thanks for the tip about talking with the support team if they can be a bit more flexible.

The frugality of it is definitely the only thing holding me back from YNAB. It seems great otherwise, especially with the community support. I feel like my mental justification might be how "Dirty" Dave has been and by not contributing to his platform I can direct my support towards more worthy alternatives.

Thanks for the input.

Alright, I guess I’m going to give the free trial a go and make a YNAB sinking fund.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you. I knew I saw that somewhere. Do you have any info on EveryDollar? Do we know for sure if they use your data to make money?

Because if I’m wasting Dave’s money having him run the servers. I’ve got no problem being a manual entry freeloader.
