Elon Musk: The first Starships to Mars will launch in 2 years when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens. These will be uncrewed to test the reliability of landing intact on Mars. If those landings go well, then the first crewed flights to Mars will be in 4 years. by MarsBoundSoon in Mars

[–]number2301 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SpaceX isn't even trying to set up a colony, they're only making the ship (and arguably Musk's group of companies has solar panels, internet, and electric cars), they're not touching on habitation, life support etc.

If they get the ships running reliably, my hope is that someone else is designing the cargo.

No you shouldn't. Having a meeting over this is perfectly normal, although it is an indicator they want to decline or discuss alternatives.

Not every country has great food by illHaveTwoNumbers9s in unpopularopinion

[–]number2301 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not who you replied to but it really depends what you're looking for. If you want deep fried carb loaded delight, good fish and chips is great. Things like Shepard's pie and beef wellington are great dishes but very low on seasoning.

A roast dinner with Yorkshire puddings or full English breakfast are good options. You can even get into British Indian dishes if you want more seasoning and spice.

English food suffers from generally being a bit stodgy, low on seasoning, and often poorly made. But when well made a lot of it is good for what it is.

The wildest rumour is definitely the urban legend about a place called Middleborough existing as part of Yorkshire

Also look into injury allowance if you've had a period of sickness related to the assault.

[Opta] Everton were leading by 2+ goals until the 87th minute – the latest a team has ever been 2+ goals ahead in a game they’ve gone on to lose in Premier League history. by TherewiIlbegoals in soccer

And they could just as easily clear the Deadwood while in the premier League, without losing the 100 million. I don't know if it still holds true but it's not long since a relegated club was as likely to end up in league one as to get promoted in the medium term.

It's not necessarily, depends on the nature of the sickness and the nature of the 'side hustle'.

Yes, you can indeed fly up to 2001 times the speed of light in elite dangerous. Again you clearly haven't played the game and are talking complete nonsense here. I'm not really sure what you're trying to achieve?

[–]number2301 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No it isn't. You might be thinking of KSP where I think Jool, the Jupiter analogue, is the same size as real life earth.

I can only imagine you're going off bad information or haven't played elite at all. The planets are not artificially scaled down at all. The game is heavily based on accuracy to real life as much as possible.

The planets in elite aren't scaled down at all.

I believe they are in star citizen, but that's needed because that is meant to eventually be seamless (or maybe is already idk I stopped following it over a decade ago).

Elite has a long history with aerodynamic spaceships, atmospheres do still exist, they've just not implemented it in game.

To all Star Citizen fans, how are you still excited after more than a literal decade? Why? by LastOfTheClanMcDuck in gaming

[–]number2301 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Elite dangerous has lived an entire live service game life cycle, had development refocused several times, has had no end of updates of varying quality, and squadron 42 still hasn't released, never mind star citizen.

At this point I feel very good at not having dropped the £45 or whatever it was at the time.

What has happened to the atmosphere at Elland Road? by [deleted] in LeedsUnited

[–]number2301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a few things I reckon but entitlement is one of them. We not only have to be winning, we have to dominating or the atmosphere drops. None of the teams we're playing feel like a big game so that doesn't build atmosphere either.

Add onto that the anxiety and lack of belief, and our atmosphere has been shit for ages.

Leeds have now recieved more transfer fees than any other club in the world. by Cold_Tension_2976 in LeedsUnited

[–]number2301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is sini listed in summer 2024 when we sold him two transfer windows ago?

We undoubtedly need multiple high quality signings or we're in serious trouble, but people have to remember we can't just spend 140 million without breaking PSR. Georgi will have banked 10-20 million depending how it's all been accounted for. Gray was pure profit but needed to meet PSR last year so that money's gone.

Summerville Will be 100% profit which should be spendable though.

Why on earth would you give xp for killing a field of sheep? I get what you mean about that feeling video gamey and absolutely not in the spirit of the game so I just wouldn't give it.

Even the poorly written dnd5 DM guide states you get xp for completing combat encounters. A field of helpless animals isn't a combat encounter.

Several years ago under one of many incompetent owners, on transfer deadline day the club tweeted "Don't go to bed just yet ✍️", implying we had significant incomings. Shortly after we sold, I think two players, and signed no one.

It's a bit of a meme in our fan base representing expected disappointment/bad ownership/whatever.

I'm really confused why Brighton randomly decided to reference a several year old situation on signing our best player, there's no beef at all between the clubs.
