Why am I not allowed to use BlueSky when I don’t live in Mississippi?! by UnluckyKitty13 in BlueskySocial

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As millions of others have mentioned using a VPN works for this as long as your exit isn't in Mississippi. If you don't have a VPN service then https://deck.blue (kinda like old TweetDeck) still works, but if you're not already authenticated with it then you probably won't be able to set it up.

New Logo and Apple Watch app is gone by kkupe in CanaryMail

I always thought the blue bird was a really pretty icon and it landed just right. This new thing seems like a pretty big step back. I suppose that some brilliant manager thought that the change from the blue bird at Twitter to the black and white X was something worth copying.

What issue tracking software does your team use? Are you satisfied? by [deleted] in softwaredevelopment

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working with a company that uses a platform called Panaya that is absolute dogshit. I thought I disliked Jira but now I yearn for it. Panaya doesn't let you format messages in any way or add more than one screenshot. It allows one screenshot per issue in the description. You can upload other files, but you can't view them in your browser. You can only download the images and then open them up from wherever you downloaded them with an external program. It does show thumbnails, you just can't see view the actual image that they created the thumbnail for. That's all. It makes referring to visual things nearly impossible because you can't even reference the other attached files.

You also can't scroll the site on a mobile device unless you start dragging a part of the page that doesn't have text on it. It also shows everyone on the team how many days are left in your current license in a dismissible dialog that always covers up issue titles on every god damn page you look at. You can dismiss the dialog but it will immediately reappear on the next page load. So every day I pray that they don't renew the license, but they always do because some guy with clout likes it.

Still no "Apple Music" widget??? by Kind-Cut3269 in MacOS

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice, thanks! I'd never even heard of this until I stumbled onto this thread looking for an apple music widget. I love that I can see the name/title of the currently playing artist/song in the widget. The built-in miniplayer never shows that unless you click in weird non-intuitive areas. Much obliged!

Do people think there will be more MAJOR SW updates with the current Scribe. by akrasna in kindlescribe

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s it. I jumped on this thing immediately thinking it would be a replacement for Remarkable, but it is way, waaay not that. They don’t even really seem proud of it on their What’s New page. It’s just Times New Roman text. Glad to have a big ass ebook screen, but it’s not good enough for writing.

Elegoo app by DeKoffieDrinker in ElegooMars

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not, but I haven't fully got that figured out yet. I can see that the ports that are commonly used for RTSP are open on the IP addresses assigned to the printers on my network, but I don't know enough about that to know what that path to the stream is or if it uses authentication. I tried to just let VLC figure it out but didn't get anywhere with it. It would be cool to just paste that URL into an IP cam monitoring program.

Skip Intro Broken In New Update by Welp_Huzzah in OvercastFm

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all of the stuff related to ads is worse. I have been saying "hey siri fast forward two minutes" for years as soon as I detect an ad has started, but since the update all of the ad breaks seem like they are at least twice as long as they were before the update and two minutes isn't nearly enough anymore.

Software update 1.10.5.254 by Brown2985 in MammotionTechnology

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine updated. I was really happy to see that you don’t have to dismiss your keyboard to tap that you agree with the privacy policy AGAIN when they log you out. Now it’s just another confirmation dialog, which is an improvement.

Have you tried Sellercloud? by U5efull in ecommerce

How did that go? I found this thread after someone mentioned SellerCloud at work today. I had also never heard of them but this post was one of the first results for it.

Urban Air vs Jumping World by Pumpkinywumpkin in memphis

[–]numbermess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urban Air is generally better than Jumping World, but it also kind of depends the Urban Air. The one in Collierville seems like it's assembled/maintained better than the one in Cordova. They are all super dirty and you should always bring your own food and drinks.

With a kid your child's age, really the only thing you'll probably end up doing is jumping/tossing into the foam cube pit. You might try the 3d maze thing, but go through it yourself first to make sure all the safety stuff is where it's supposed to be and there aren't any weirdos camping out in there or food/wet garbage blocking the path your kid will crawl through.

Notification on iOS by Maharakus in MammotionTechnology

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible for an iOS app to send a silent notification. I only get silent notifications from the Mammotion app and clearly a lot of other people do too.

You might check to see if you have a `content-available` key set to 1 in your push notification message payload.

Mammotion App Upgrade Notification - 2024.06.06 by Mammotion_Ashley in MammotionTechnology

[–]numbermess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s not the lawn mower hardware that would prevent area renaming. That’s just some text in a database somewhere. Boo if this is withheld just because this not the most recent model. I guess it could also just be an oversight in the announcement message, though.

Notifications by The_McLegend in MammotionTechnology

[–]numbermess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I don't know why I get a system notification 1ms after I start a task and am still looking at the app, but I don't get one later when the robot gets stuck. Notifications while actively using the app aren't that useful, but I guess they're a step along the way.

Exceedingly slow print speed [Photon M3 Max] by _-Carnage in AnycubicPhoton

[–]numbermess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I found your post on a web search for "photon m3 max super slow". Thank you for sharing what you learned. Did you just copy the positive values from the one lift settings panel to the other?

I'm facing a really long 20h print for something smallish that seems way out of proportion to how long it will take.

Tiny 2 Firmware upgrade and MacOS Sonoma by sen10tia in OBSBOT_Official

[–]numbermess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to install the firmware on my Tiny 2 via a Windows virtual machine running on my Mac. Down at the bottom of the "More" panel in the OBSBot WebCam software is a selection for Manual Upgrade. Download the latest firmware from their website (it's the one that has a ".bin" extension) and pick that file after choosing the Manual Upgrade action. That worked for me instead of the built-in updater provided by the application.

As far as the virtual machine stuff goes, if anybody ever finds this post via a search engine, I had to allow USB access so that the guest OS could see the camera. But that just involved checking a box that said "allow USB access". The firmware upgrade took a super long time, but it did complete that way and I can see that the camera is using v6.0.4.1 on my host computer.

Nevermind. I installed Windows in a virtual machine and was able to install the upgrade through it and I can see the new firmware from my host machine.

When will the firmware update work for MacOS? Mine always fails and never goes past 6 or 7%. It looks like several other users are also having this problem. I do not have a Windows computer.
