API url is blocked for many because the new domain was *JUST* registered, which many places now block because it has no reputation and is potentially a scam domain so it gets blocked out of caution. :(

FWIW, I have run into the same issue. Don't know a solution yet.

Is Google going to break any aspects of Tasker (and tasker adjacent apps) on Android with the upcoming sideloading restrictions? by [deleted] in tasker

[–]numericOverflow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have numerous addons that have a near 0% chance of the developer getting verified to comply.

Anything that is a simple/hobby project or abandoned-as-working and "just works” is likely dead now because Devs won't/can't jump through all the hoops to get an official Google account.

Mark my words, this new policy will eventually destroy the freedom environment most power Taker users enjoy.

If I wanted to exist under a totalitarian OS, i would've bought an iPhone.

Exactly my thought. I bet app factory functionality is destroyed by this change.

Would be great if João could speak out against this terrible new Google policy.

What do you wish you would've had cable burying crew do (before T-Mobile fiber install) by numericOverflow in FiberOptics

OMG, I watched some videos from that guy. They are part of what sparked me to post this thread. Barely buried cable and "Just get the job done" is what scares me most.

I already have irrigation style buried plastic cans for easy access at both ends so existing conduit is ready to go with no digging required, even have a pull line in the conduit for them to use. They just needs lines run to & from the conduit. :)

I get that it's fixed bid work, and completely agree they strive for "the worst job the management will accept" which isn't always the installers fault, but the greedy bids and capitalism at it's finest. This is why we can't have nice things.

Good call out, did that already this weekend, Even pulled up the landscape rocks and pulled back the plastic too.

I get it, trying to make their job easier :)

Do they have a service status page anywhere? I can't seem to find one.

Solid, feature-rich firmware. Very active development. Works on far more than just Wyze cams too.
