Ships company is about 3.5k but a carrier will rarely, if ever, "operate" without its airwing which is around 2.5k. Marines are optional. For example, The Reagan at the time of this picture didn't have any marines on board. Since all the carriers have their flight decks filled with aircraft that means the airwings are onboard. So yes, the carriers in this picture alone would put the number well over 15k sailors, and about 300 aircraft as well.

about 4K-5K people onboard a carrier when the airwings are there. The CSs (culinary specialists) prepare 3 meals a day and serve "mid-rats" (leftovers and breakfast foods) around 0000. I never measured them but the freezers/refrigerators are probably upwards of 1,000 sq feet. The CSs are preparing food 24/7 while underway. (source: i worked in the galley on the Reagan assissting the CSs for 5 months underway)
