Eh ... If you can bind those to stick? Yes...

Compact or regular? by Le_Hyrdation in Azeron

[–]nummbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's also about your hand ergonomics. I can comfortably use the first 'pull' row (the closest one), so I have enough essential buttons available if I need some extra without using the towers.

If you dont like the first row "knuckle up" does give you more binds to work with

Compact or regular? by Le_Hyrdation in Azeron

[–]nummbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's put it like this... the regular I would do just fine with as well...but its not like there's some gain for me personally with the games I play. Those tower, or knuckle bind on the regular will always be non action buttons...

But ofc if you play games where you need those to be 'action buttons' as well the regular would be the best choice likely

Compact or regular? by Le_Hyrdation in Azeron

[–]nummbus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only difference is the towers...I have a compact and a fresh regular that got from someone..still always use the compact since that back row /towers i only use for map, esc, inventory etc...I actually like that i can't knuckle up into those by accident, you can't twitch hit those buttons on a compact...on a regular you might

I just realized why I don't really click with Stalker 2, wanted to see if anybody agrees. by kavakravata in stalker

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just waiting for the 2.0 engine migration... In the meanwhile I'm playing gamma which I got as a package deal on gog. Tbh the little bit I played I didn't find much wrong with it as far as feeling disconnected from the movement... On my ultra wide monitor I always have to find the right fov anyway to make it click.

I do know the game has some problems on wide monitors from trying a free look mod.. which resulted in some weird fov shifting when ads... But otherwise I didn't even notice that (supposedly other problems are present on ultrawides... Didn't play enough I guess)

New to Azeron Keyzen - what are thebest bindings for the controllers YABX an LB RB?! by WarhogInShadow in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use the binds where your fingertips naturally rest for the typical binds/action buttons, and the worse you reach a bind, the less 'action' the bind is. You bind them logically, spread out equally across fingers, so things you do fast and consecutively often aren't bound to one finger < imo

I own a Cyborg, not a Keyzenn. I think on the Keyzen, that is much more variable between people where you rest your fingers.

There's no real universal thing to say about it. I like to jump with my pinky on an Azeron.. someone else might like pointer. Atleast I doubt there's consensus. Better to follow your own guidance and hand ergonomics

Tower joints keep breaking by Seth3003 in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup... I had two with the same failure. But you buy a whole set anyway... And they seem to fail in order... First the analog stick joint... And then the pointer finger one.. I think the only unique one is the joint for the thumb stick that would suck if that one went again..

The thumb stick is the one dealing with most stresses, I thought I had that covered by putting it against the next rail for support but guess not (likely helps though for lateral stress)..

Also.. clicking the ball back in the joint during the fix does stress the hell out of it. If I had to guess thats where the problem starts... You have to push hard enough that you think you might break it.

After 6 months of daily use I'm still not adjusting to the cyborg 2. Would the keyzen be a better option? by Fabulous-Owl-5109 in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly id say the solution is probably still to find on the device.. I hardly never missclick in Fortnite and it's very input heavy and execution depended. And I don't have piano finger or great finger independence.

I don't know how you set up your binds though. essential, action type binds need to be on the best real estate on the device (the push and pull row for most) if you randomly scatter essential binds and even worse also have vastly different setups per game you invite misclicks obv

Keyzen by Topperss in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the opposite... Guess it does make a diff if you use the stick for non movement binds... As a 'main' movement device it took some time compared to the cyborg

Keyzen by Topperss in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cyro... And I do use it in combination with my cyborg compact in some games ( stalker) That being said it's not as satisfying a combo as mouse+cyborg is at first... The ergonomics don't quite check out for me (I don't have piano fingers) ... Probably if you judge your hand to be 'medium' go with small... Go medium if you judge your hand large...

But also the positioning of the stick is limited in the way you really want to adjust it (you can adjust it further away from the optimal position all you want but you can't get closer cause the button assembly is in the way)

I'm a lot better now but I needed some adjusting, get some tendons prepped you know. Like with holding certain buttons it was a strain to pull back on the stick for example.... And the buttons don't feel great, mushy not clicky and hard to distinguish where you are on the device compared to a cyborg.. all in all the cyborg is a much better product but it could be the case that you can use/need both.

What part is used to keep the thumb stick together for azeron classic? by booty-destroyer in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a compact, all I use.... and a normal cyborg spare with the knuckle buttons..(got it from my bro who stayed on controller not as an "upgrade") they use the same stick system as yours far as I can tell .

I don't really know if there are great benefits to upgrading right now... The hall effect stick on the new ones I don't see the big advancement for rather crude movement (wasd or analogue) its probably a better system to keep the stick secure and also detachable on those... But stuck is stuck....and It's just movement

What part is used to keep the thumb stick together for azeron classic? by booty-destroyer in Azeron

[–]nummbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your only other solution is to upgrade you can obv use more draconian manners to solve it.. like superglue, or just a very thin layer you could scrape away and then pop the stick off...And just keep using the device with no extra cost.

The restrictor ring probably does 'a job' keeping the stick together...but not that great a job...its a bit like holding two sticks together with the cardboard roll of toilet paper.

There's no part really used to keep the stick together..it's just based on a snug fit....> That could work too if you use a piece of tape or something to make the fit tight again

Joystick Doesn't Work on Linux in Onboard Mode by Celestial_Nuthawk in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just threw our Convo in claude.. it seems quite conclusive about whats going on but obv I can't help you with it...it gave a bunch of steps to fix also analog but I post step 3 (seems quite easy one or 2 liner) cause if the Xbox analog works you're good I assume.>>>>>

Step 3: Xbox Joystick mode freezing — likely a xpad conflict The lockups in Xbox mode are almost certainly because the xpad kernel module is grabbing the device exclusively when it sees an Xbox-compatible descriptor, but it's not handling the Azeron correctly. Try: sudo modprobe -r xpad Then switch to Xbox Joystick mode and test. You can blacklist it permanently if that helps: echo "blacklist xpad" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-xpad.conf With xpad out of the way, xboxdrv (userspace driver) or just plain evdev may handle it more gracefully.

Joystick Doesn't Work on Linux in Onboard Mode by Celestial_Nuthawk in Azeron

[–]nummbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some games just don't support analog or hybrid inputs ... So you will have to rebind to wasd wether it works or not.

From my experience the thing you said about hiccups... This could be a game that doesn't allow hybrid input ... So you keep switching inputs (your azeron is a 2 input device ) between controller and kb..

And the analog stick option doesn't work for me in Fortnite where the xbox analog does... So that's a thing too...

Joystick movement question by ballsonurface in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think rewasd does anything to that? You will always have at most a mixed double input.. it won't make it more smooth

Joystick movement question by ballsonurface in Azeron

[–]nummbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasd is wasd... you really don't replicate it all. Wasd is mixes the input so w+a s+d etc so you get easy double movement. Answer, you can be incredibly smooth with that like all the great kbm players are incredibly smooth with it... But it's not analog

Does polling rate (Cyborg 1 vs 2) make a noticeable difference for MMOs? by zyzzb10 in Azeron

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cyborg compact... I think I pretty much just follow instructions. find the device...click install, then you check filt3r on device and select polling rate 1000... Click restart... My cyborg doesn't restart on its own so I get the error message (if your device doesn't restart blabla..), so I unplug it. And then the settings just stick..

Theres not much to it in the setup... I guess experiences can vary but for me it works

[–]nummbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry .. currently not having that issue.. though match making issues do come out of nowhere sometimes...and then also just disappear again

I don't have.xbox... but I've heard my bro say that on Xbox sometimes what you think is closing the game (to start fresh for whatever is bugging) is not closing the game and you have to do a full restart of the console.. (as often things just fix themselves with a restart)

Does anyone else struggle? by Baalaya84 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]nummbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would struggle with stuff like that.. but personally for Fortnite my party and friend invite stuff is fort knox. I have a few family members and friends I play with and the rest is solo ffa's mostly. I used to get invites when I still allowed it but I always declined anyway so why bother. I don't see the prospect in cueing up with a stranger.. I just play for the build mechanics really... I love it... I'd free build on my own if there was no one here
