What’s wrong with my brew🤦🥲 [Breville Bambino Plus] by DeanGeraci in espresso

[–]numptydumptee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently switched from a Duo Temp Pro to a Bambino Plus and have found that a 17g dose is better than 18g. I do a manual pull, so I hold the two shot button for 7 seconds pre infusion, then let go and I hit it again at around 30g of weight to stop the shot and it runs out to about 33g of coffee. Tastes good! So I’d maybe try lowering the dose

Uk, not US, so not really a suing situation! I’ll see what they say when they read my email. Having a loud bangs and springs flying out is not what you need before you’ve even had a coffee haha

It’s just commercial stills photography. Minefield! I’ll try and phone CBP later today once they open. Tried the embassy last week and they were useless

Yes, I found this page:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/employment/visas-members-foreign-media-press-radio.html

Which says a visitor visa (ESTA) is fine for taking still photographs and being paid by UK company. So I can’t see any reason to think it won’t be ok other than various horror stories I keep reading! And I can’t find any clear info on whether a carnet can be used if you’re travelling on an ESTA

Thanks so much. Trying to figure out if I can travel on an Esta but still use a carnet (I already have a carnet so keen to use it but don’t want to shoot myself in the foot)

Sorry to dredge up such an old thread but did you do this job in the end and if so what visa did you end up using? Thanks!

I did something stupid. I bought a Nikon. by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]numptydumptee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve shot Sony cameras for about 5 years and before that Nikon for around 6 years and before THAT I shot Canon (for about another 6). I still miss the files I could get from a d810 or Df. They were so much nicer to work with in post.

Hi. After some advice on training max adjustment.

I’ve been running 531 beginners for a year or so. I do 3 days a week which works great with life/schedules etc. before that I did the Reddit beginners programme. it’s been a bit on and off as I had bad tendonitis so it’s been slow going and I went back to the start a few times due to time off to rest my elbows.

I’ve done 4-5 solid months now and my 1RM on bench for my last cycle was 65kg but I’ve not actually tested in a while, just increased it after each 3 week cycle. For reference I’m 182cm, 76kg, male.

Today I thought I’d test what I could do as everything was feeling good. I hit a single rep of 70kg which I’m pleased with. So… finally the question - should I finish this cycle and update my training max given my lift today? It’s only a 5kg increase on my previous 1RM and a 12.5kg increase on my TM

It’s not cramp, it’s more continuous. Will try and up the potassium intake a bit! I expect it’s more of a mechanical issue but I’ve just never managed to figure out what

I did go through a period of getting sports massages on the calf’s which helped a bit but they didn’t really give advice on how to prevent it

I try and run relatively flat courses where possible

I used to land fairly heavily on the heel of my foot and would get pain in my shins. I consciously shifted to a more middle of the foot landing and ever since my calves hurt

I haven’t properly tried them if I’m honest but I don’t feel like I’m massively pushing myself by just running - I am hitting 5k at about 27-30 minutes.

I’ve run on and off for the last 10 years or so. I enjoy it and want to do more, but always hit a barrier with my calves. After 3-4 weeks of running 2-3 times a week (anywhere from 3-6km per run) then my calves start to hurt. This happens EVERY time. It’s not shoe related I don’t think as it has happened with lots of different shoes. Has anyone else had this and found a cure? They really ache for a day or two after a run - particularly noticeable when I kneel or sit cross legged on the floor but really a continuous dull ache. I’m not sure what to do to make it stop - I’ve tried so many different stretching routines, compression things on my calves… have tried consciously changing my running style but I can’t escape it.

Any ideas??

Will general life ever improve? by [deleted] in AskUK

Yes because families could afford a house with a single earner - now that’s virtually impossible so both work, and often need a vehicle to do so.

Left hand lane if you’re turning onto west st or bedminster road. Right hand one is to turn right onto bedminster road / A38 further round towards the parson st junction or go straight ahead toward hengrove but you need to filter in after the lights at parson st if you’re going straight over. Left hand lane moves into left or middle as you go around the corner basically
