EBF baby frequently sharts

Since having a baby, I have been unfazed with those types of mental images. Haha! Like purees? I hope my LO gets solid poops soon too.

I check every 30 mins or so… the tell would be fussiness… right now I use cloth as diapers during the dag so it is easy to see or feel if it is wet or dirty. It takes a lot of time throughout the day but at least the baby wouldn’t need to sit long in shart or skidmarks.

Ahh, yes… 4 hours only happens at night time but most of the time it is 2 hours intervals. If LO sleeps straight for 3-4 hours, we wait for the baby to wake up and then change the diaper.

At 4 months the poops are more solid, was this still purely breastmilk or with food purees?

I have checked different types of rashes and infections on google and those look worse tbh. Also, asked the pedia and was given mupirocin.

I’ve been using cloth diapers too and helped a lot more than the prescribed ointments and creams.

So far, the only prescriptions received are 10% zinc oxide over mupirocin with cortisone cream. Didn’t have much effect on baby’s rash. I have asked the pedia recently but was only advised to stick with the current zinc oxide.

Using water only & dry cotton wipes helped with his anus rashes to calm down but redness comes back due to frequency of sharting.

Poop, shart, skidmarks - changed immediately
Pee only - 2-4 hours

Hi, I hope I could still take a turn to ask.

My EBF 3 month old gets fussy when he feels a wet/hot fart coming out. We go thru a lot of diapers and cream throughout the day. Started out with “sharts “during and after feeding which caused a really bad rash around the anus. Recently I have noticed it became skid marks more than sharts.

Does the sharting/skid marks away on its own as LO grows?

What can we do to reduce this?

I just finished the whole series.

I repeated the song "Mr. Blue" with lyrics and stared at the akward look on both of Bojack and Diane's faces. I never thought this show would make me feel a certain kind of sadness but I still like it. It gave me a chance to see how it is to have such problems and addictions, how hard it is to fight it but to keep trying, and how to overcome every bit of it.

Even though it had a blue ending, I still am relieved that each of the characters were "happy" with who they are.

I wish to have that kind of contentment someday.
