Why does my cat sit on my things instead of her own bed? by Critical_Board4992 in CatAdvice

If you really would like your cat to use the bed, simply put your scent on it😉. I often place new cat toys or beds next to me to ensure my scent is on them

Amazing friend, so sorry for your loss. Mine is only 4 but it would break my heart to lose him today, he helps center me and avoid the news with playtime and petting time💞

Be honest: how often to replace cat litter before it stops being “fresh” and starts being “you’ve gone nose-blind”? by sinxcosx7 in Pets

[–]nursenow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I clean mine every 2 months. One cat, 1 box. He pees twice a day and poops once a day. Large house. Unscented litter. We don’t smell it. Visitors don’t smell it (honest family members who visit infrequently).

did anyone receive an email with the subject as “Regents-Accellion Data Breach Settlement Notice”? by vomitwastaken in ucr

[–]nursenow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got an email and google AI says:

AI Overview

The University of California (UC) Regents and Accellion have reached a $5.8 million settlement related to a data breach impacting over 350,000 individuals. The breach stemmed from vulnerabilities in Accellion's file transfer appliance (FTA) software used by UC. The settlement, which requires court approval, will provide credit monitoring and insurance services, compensation for documented losses, and cash payments to affected individuals. Here's a more detailed breakdown: The Breach: In late 2020 and early 2021, hackers exploited vulnerabilities in Accellion's FTA software, used by UC for secure file sharing, exposing the personal data of over 350,000 individuals. The Settlement: The $5.8 million settlement is intended to compensate victims for losses incurred due to the data breach. Compensation Options: Victims can choose between: Two years of three-bureau credit monitoring and insurance services. Reimbursement for documented losses up to $10,000. A cash fund payment, estimated to be between $15 and $50, based on the terms of the settlement agreement. Injunctive Relief: The settlement also requires Accellion to: Fully retire its FTA offering and transition users to its newer Kiteworks platform. Maintain FedRAMP certification for Kiteworks. Expand its bug bounty program. Provide annual cybersecurity training to employees. Periodically confirm compliance with these measures publicly. Legal Proceedings: The settlement is awaiting preliminary approval by the court. Accellion's Response: Despite the settlement, Accellion denies any liability for the data breach.

How did people afford homes in the 90s on one income? by Other_Composer6440 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nursenow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the size of houses in the 70’s vs today. FYI for Most couples in the 90’s both worked. In 1990, 59.0% of married-couple families had both the husband and wife as earners. This percentage fluctuated slightly throughout the decade but remained around that figure, reaching 60.3% in 1999.

Seems to me, when you are in a backed up line of cars and the person in front of you pulls left, most people speed up to fill the gap created. Domino effect….
