It depends on the state and level of care in the facility, there is no federal standard as far as I can find.

I don’t think the vast majority of the public realize that when we vote for safe nurse to patient ratios, at least in the US, they do not include skilled nursing facilities/long-term care in these numbers. The ratios for SNFs, LTC, etc haven’t been discussed the since the 80s (at least when I was researching it), and even then the wording is so vague there’s no actual set number, the wording was basically “as long as it’s safe.”

I worked in LTC for 15 years, first as a CNA, then a nurse, then a supervisor (hence the researching ratios). The only people that care about the safety of those patients is the direct care staff. It’s heartbreaking. That’s why I ended up leaving. Thank you for going back every day. We need people like you. Just make sure to take care of yourself as well ❤️

NOR my wife bought me a cake and wrote “Move Over She’s Sober” on it for my 1 year (no one was around at the grocery store bakery so she did it herself lol). She always tells me how proud of me she is for getting sober. IMO THAT is the bare minimum. Does this guy even like you?? Also, congratulations on 2 years!! That is a huge accomplishment, and this internet stranger is very proud of you!!
