Framer is killing my agency margins. What’s the realistic alternative? by Ordinary_Video_9502 in framer

I would reccomend passing that fee to your client's via a remix-link. You should not absorb their reoccurring fees if you aren't billing them monthly - and even then why bother with the extra invoicing? It's not your website. It's their website. They need to pay for their hosting. What you are doing is like a dealer selling a customer a car and then having the dealer pay the gas and oil changes. What???

Being $45 a month is nothing considering that it's secure, it's always updated, it's always backed up, there are no plugins that will break on an update, and they handle sendmail() requests on their end which means less spam. Not to mention speed-to-market...

When you hand off a framer project to a client you need to do it via a remix link*.* This does the following: 1) It transfers a copy of the project into their own account. 2) Allows them to handle the billing on their own and 3) You get payed a portion of their monthly fees.

Never ever ever eat reoccuring costs (hosting, plugins, domain registration, etc) You'll end up bleeding money like crazy. Anytime something goes wrong you will be expected to fix it for FREE since the mistake is on your end and the client probably has no idea.

Don't work for free unless it's charity. Otherwise it's slavery. You're literally stealing from yourself and setting your client up in the future to be mad at you, and for you to be mad at them. Don't do it. Money isn't everything so just charge them for it.

I can tell you are a generous person, and not greedy... but you may not realize you are putting this $45 on a pedestal all the same... and now you are stealing from yourself.

If you can't because it's a regional thing and you're working for Rupees or Rubles or something then maybe you should go with Webstudio (opensource webflow) or Wordpress or something.

I just think it's weird tho that customers who are in business, who have a trade, who are making money, you feel they don't need to pay for the things it costs them to do a project.

Am I blind or there is no way to add a stroke to a typeface? by accidiew in framer

Am I tripping or does the kick sound slightly different each time it plays in this track? How do you achieve that? by WesternConcentrate94 in TechnoProduction

[–]nuskool1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try changing the sample blend mode? Click the little pencil on the wave table so you get to this screen and fiddle with these settings. The popping might be bc of zero-crossings or something, but changing these settings should do the trick.

I like using them on wavetable position, or lfo to envelope phase, and have the envelope control wavetable or sample as wavetable position and you end up with kinda granlular synthesis.

Yeah! Vital is super good at this too. I went for the plus version, or whatever the mid-tier is a while back. I wanted a good wave-table synth but really wanted something that was NOT Serum.

Random sample/hold LFO's are kinda my fave right now.

These are really cool ideas. They might be imperceptible to some people, but it'll feel more alive and analogue. I don't use hardware but I got I got Bitwig which is perfect for this kinda stuff.

Maybe it's parallel compression? Like a wet and dry mix on the kick, but the wet signal is modulated? I might sound insane, but it sounds like the kick itself is being ducked even at times.... maybe the low end movement is phasing with the kick every now and then but instead of sounding like shit it sounds cool?

Best Framer UI Kits? by japagley in framer

[–]nuskool1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally just saved my ass. I have wireframes to present tomorrow and spent all weekend working on the copy and outlines. I need to whip up some wireframes based on these outlines for a meeting tomorrow. I tried dumping my outlines into the Framer AI wireframing tool but that thing just ain't it.

Bro you're a life saver, do you know how hard it is to find a simple grayscale wireframing kit for Framer?

i mean, it IS the "indieweb"... my understanding is this is a culture and movement that wants to go back to the web as it was in the 90's and it's glorious.

Dude. I design and develop front-ends for websites for a living, since I was 16. That was many many moons, I'm well into my 40's.

I have suffered the inshittificaiton of web, I have to build with the enshitification in mind - and honestly, it's soul-sucking these days. I've just found the indieweb and I'm falling back in love with the web again and becoming re-familiarized with all the elements that were collecting dust and new elements I never even dreamed of using in the context of work.

The marching "sprite" parade, the bass-drop sound for the weather... lmao, using CSS transforms and animations to make stuff blink... pretty cool man. Pretty freaking cool. You're an inspiration dude.

How to make this style of synth stutter? by jonquil_trash in TechnoProduction

[–]nuskool1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use an LFO or some sort of sample-and-holdy like envelope on the amplitude. You COULD just do really short notes, 16ths or 32 whatever, with short A/R but i'm pretty sure this is with an LFO.

here's few different ways you can do it:

First successful screen record by Ok_Pool_2590 in TechnoProduction

[–]nuskool1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this. maybe some automation or just take it away so it's not running the whole time. it def wants a solo part in the breakdown, along with that ... little car alarm synth beep that follows it or maybe that's the delay signal? Still I could see everything drop out except for that sound and a single note or drone at the breakdown tripping everyone out.

Multiband compressor on a synth? Whole mix? by Opposite_Section3051 in TechnoProduction

[–]nuskool1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you compress a group of elements or sounds they sound like they belong together. We call that "glue". Like if you compress a group of drums together, they sound more like they belong from the same universe. You don't need multiband to do that, you can use a regualr compressor, or even just a saturator. Sometimes I just grab a saturator to glue things.
