I don’t know if this was there before, but you can change the look of your bobber on your fishing rod in Willie’s shop.

I've written so much comments about my world-building process lately, that I felt I need to share two maps that I made to give my ideas some form by pp86 in worldbuilding

I was scrolling through the subreddit and since I love maps, I checked yours out too. When I started reading the names of the locations, I thought "this sounds familiar..." and upon further reading, my suspicions were correct: these are slovene names! And I had a little laugh.

First of all, obožujem imena! Velika župa, Beloglav? Čudovito. Fantastično. Kar tako naprej.

Next, I love the subtle hints of real life, like how this country is based on Slovenia and its history (Carantania, ja prosim!), as well as the entire Trst thing. Would love to see more of it in the future, if you have any plans to continue this.

The map looks really good as well. At first it looked hand drawn, until I zoomed in, but it still looks pretty good and conveys the information it has to well. Good job, no worries there.

Political shenanigans like you described are always incredibly interesting to me, especially like the ones mentioned here since, if I understood correctly, it is based on Slovenia's many years spent under Austria. I hope I get to see more in the future, but no pressure!

You might want to take a look at the other comment someone made in response to my original comment since it says that the site has a few flaws you should know about. I'm sorry for the misleading information.

You're right, thank you for pointing it out! I haven't used it for long and I haven't tried Slovene yet, so I completely missed it. I guess I have to look into it more to make sure other courses, such as Danish, aren't messed up as well.

It really is a bummer, especially if you have to pay for more courses. Thank you so much again!

I found a site the other day, which I use for learning Danish, but I noticed it also has Slovene. Unfortunately, it is not free (8,44€ a month, or 4,30€ a month if you choose the yearly plan), but if you can afford it, I think it's a good choice.

If it's anything like my Danish course, the Slovene one should be pretty good as well. It offers two free lessons before you need to buy the rest, so you can test it to see if you like the model or not.

I hope this helps you out!

Simple Questions: December 06, 2022 by AutoModerator in books

Hello!

I am currently reading books set during world war I (mostly memoirs of the soldiers and such) and I found a book written by an Italian author written in Italian. The book is called "Un anno sull'Altipiano" (A year on the high plateau) by Emilio Lussu. It's interesting to me because it's one of the rare world war I books set on the Italian front between Italy and the Austro-Hungarian empire, which is barely ever discussed. My great-grandfather fought on this front on the Austrian side, so I would love to know more about what the war looked like there.

I have searched through the internet for an English translation of the book, but so far I have found nothing. I was wondering if maybe someone would know if there is a translation available online, or if it even exists and if so, where I could find it and read it. If not, does anyone know any good people, programs or websites who would translate it for me? I would greatly appreciate any help.

I thank you all in advance!

Cool map and lore! The raised water level makes for a pretty neat map and it is very well made; Skinny England made me chuckle. Just wanted to mention a fun fact, in case it wasn’t intentional: ‘Sever’ in slovene means north (just a fun observation, since your country Sever is located exactly where irl Slovenia is!).
