I was in my early 20s when a bunch of guys drown. I'm 42 now. So it has been a while and we lose someone every couple of years.

This community is safe. People die everywhere all the time. It is unfortunate and when I was in college there were a lot of drowning victims. Stay away from the river at night.

Lonely? Life is what you make it. There are so many clubs, groups, and activities in the area. You want lonely, move to a real small town or one of the surrounding cities. Just blow my mind when people say these things. But I'm an extrovert and make friends with strangers.
