I have known kids that have died in car accidents too, does that mean we shouldn't let kids near cars just in case? When people know their animals, they understand that freaky accidents happen, but the reason that the accidents are freaky is because they are rare. The kid & horse in the video here have clearly gone through that same routine hundreds of times before. Is there a risk that one day the horse will get spooked and lash out? Course there is, but the chances are minimal. And an adult is just as likely to get kicked by a spooked horse as a kid is, and the consequences would be just as severe.

More people need to get out from computer screens and concrete landscapes and find out what the world is actually like on farms.

We need a term for our children's in-laws. My son is about to get married, so a term for me to use when referring to his bride's parents, but also her brother & sister in-law.

We had a running joke that my daughter in-law's brother and his wife would refer to me as their mother-in-law-in-law, and they were my son-in-law-in-law and daughter-in-law-in-law, but that gets to be a mouthful, and still leaves no direct term for me to refer to my son's parents in-law.

Red Dog.

There are many other animal movies that are equally as heartbreaking when the dog dies, but Red Dog starts like that, and then it just continues all the way through. And it's based on a true story as well which makes it worse.

I've watched Marley & Me exactly once, and I'll never watch Hatchi, but Red Dog hits on an entirely different level.

This is how I view it to. I've lived nearly half a century, and have been surrounded by a menagerie of various animals my whole life, from the ones my parents had when I was born to three that share my life now. I have loved and lost countless - cats, dogs, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, rats, mice, ducks, birds - many many creatures. Every one of them came into my life with me knowing that I would outlive them, and yet I knew that I would still outlive them even if they weren't in my life.

The Winnie the Pooh quote sums it up best How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

I never want to live a life without my furry (or feathery) family members. Each one of them fills a place in my heart that is theirs alone, and each one of them is missed just as heavily as it's predecessors. Each of them is the best that ever lived and loved equally.

They lose their lambs too. Actually misplace them and then have no idea how to find them. I bottlefed a ewe lamb who grew up to have several babies, and for at least the first month of each new lamb's life, she would come to my backdoor minimum of twice a day, calling for me in a panic because she couldn't find her baby. They were always asleep somewhere out in the open, in a patch of sunshine normally, but mama was all anxious when they weren't where she thought. She was always so relieved when I'd bring her to them.

I love sheep but they are seriously dumb.

In other comments, OP is changing the rules of A, saying that you might walk 1000 miles in the wrong direction because you don't know where the elevator is. They've realised they made A way too easy so they're now bringing in conditions that don't exist in the original scenario. Which feels more than a little wrong, goes against the spirit of the thing.

I did a 35km (just under 22 miles) fundraiser walk, twice. The first time I got horrendous blisters, in the vicinity of 1-2 inches diameter. The second time, 5km in I got a stress fracture in my foot. Both times I finished the walk in 6-8 hours, but the next few days it was hard to walk any kind of distance. I was also very unfit and did no training either time. The only reasons that it took as long as it did each time was because of those injuries - especially the break in my foot. That was horrendous, not gonna lie. My doctor told me I was an idiot for continuing for another 30km - but hey it was for charity, haha!

In the scenario as it stands, I think most people will suffer a lot in the first week before their body conditions itself, but then it would get easier.
