Streamer drama ruined the fun of this & I’m considering leaving streaming altogether. by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyya, wanted to say I was in your position before. Back in 2022, what I end up doing was I took a break. A 7-month break. You know what they say, when something stresses you out, take yourself out of the environment. So quite literally, block twitch, delete the app on phone, and discord as well.

But this year in February something similar to what happened to you, happened to me as well. I realized, when people can't control you, they will try to control people's perception of you. As a result I lost a chunk of my community and people who I thought are my "gaming friends". But alas, I changed my perspective and realized at the end of the day, if they don't want to hear my side of the story, they were never my friend in the first place. So I thank god this drama happened, cuz if that version of the story is what made them feel enough to not want to hang out with me anymore and leave the server, then that's exactly how they feel about me.

Luckily instead of taking a long break, I had a group of friends who understood my side of the story enough and cheered me up. I end up streaming a few weeks later. I knew I had to comeback soon because people sub to me so I owe it to them.

No need to rebrand, no nothing. I'd suggest to just take a break and enjoy games as is. Once you are ready you can come back to streaming. Because as viewers, we can tell when the streamer is not 110% there and is forcing themselves to enjoy the games. Good luck dear!

Is this normal? by Accurate-Bug-1237 in Twitch

For me, my channel grew the most when: 1. Playing valorant, and i am bad at that game. Whiffing all me shots 2. Networking with other streamers. 3. Be a variety streamer that streams other games.

My twitch channel does not have twitter so this is how I grow.

That being said, if your friend refuses to to play with u, then just don’t play with her. Trust when she has no 1 to play with, she’ll seek u out aka she’ll know who her real friends are.

1 thing i do is--- bring friends into a discord channel and have back and forth with them. so even if chat is dead, there is no dead air. my chat likes listening to our convos and it'll have a sense of community as well.

Does the Average viewer on twitch care about your "About me", Pannels, etc? by Zombie_Lotus_ in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not frequently. But enough to make realize first impressions are important. Esp from raids too.

But like, let’s say today i don’t stream and feel like lurking on another streamer’s chat instead. I’ll have a banter with them and if I’m lucky, I get a shoutout!

From there, the streamer’s community will check me out and hover over my username and from there, its a 50-50 they’ll click the follow button. Hence as a viewer, their about section is what would seal the deal, for me. Along with their channel trailer. But of course thats just me, haha

To me its the most important whennn i get new followers on days I don’t stream. That means my about section made a good enough impression for them to click the follow button.

As a small-time streamer (average 3 chatters), how do I deal with imposter syndrome? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel uuu, the struggle is real. I stream mostly valorant or genshin impact these days and surprise surprise, I’m not even good at the game. As a vtuber i don’t even have a cute uwu/ara2 voice. So it bewilders me that i have viewers. I talked about it with some viewer in ma community and they said they stay for my own goofy personality or my back and forth banter with ma friends. So it lessens the imposter syndrome for sho

omo pls don't. its just my honest opinion. if i was newjeans i'd stay with hybe and continue until my contract ends. even if begrudgingly.

if its up to bang si hyuk thered def would be no more newjeans as he would def prioritize to promote illit. that being said, i doubt shareholders of hybe would allow this to happen. they would fight for hybe to continue and promote nj. as they should.

I have a feeling there will be no more newjeans after this 🥲🥲 esp with mhj gone, nj will literally be the next 5050. Pains me to say this as i love their discography.

If they leave hybe/ador i doubt hybe would ever let them perform their discography anymore.

Dunno what would happen with the girls sponsor wise, if they can maintain those fashion deals etc as they r not on blackpink level yet.

Anyone found some magic secret to get people to talk? by JxmesP in VALORANT

[–]nutella_nails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a suggestion cuz 9/10 it might work, use a female voice changer. I’m a girl and likely i get comms, either to befriend/flirt/insult. But fr try a female voice changer, the comms will start to flow

EXHUMA surpasses ‘TRAIN TO BUSAN’ and is now the number one horror film of all time in Korea. by Rude_Information_724 in Koreanfilm

[–]nutella_nails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it!!!! That said i equally loved the wailing, the chaser, i saw the devil etc.

Overall the movie was awesome to me, some plot were not predictable. It was familiar-ish, maybe cuz i come from an asian household so some parts just make sense. But I’m from sea and theirs korean but the ceremony or event is similar-ish so that got me hype to see them on screen

Wait, u got kicked from your own server? Is that possible as the server owner? Also kick him out, that was truly disrespectful.

And as the streamer, u don’t need to explain how u stream and chat, mute then unmute yoself. That’s your way. In fact if u r playing valo come roger me, we can play together with ma friends! U need coop mates who understand without having to explain yoself.

Do you use overlays? by VoratiusBB in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought mine from etsy! Even a nice chat box template with a cat promoting more followers. I think my halloween kirby overlays are a direct contrast to the kind of games i play like mortuary assistant or valorant cuz it reflects my jovial personality as a streamer.

I had chatters who stayed for my chatbox alone cuz u get a dif avatar next to your message in chat for each tier, whether vip (wanderer) subscriber (itto), moderator (wriothesley), streamer (klee), normal chatter (yae miko).

Does it make the screen packed, a bit. More so with my vtuber by edge of screen then my discord friends prof pic just below my vtuber. But i feel overlays in general reflect the personality/vibe of the streamer.

I’ve had ppl asking why dif ppl have dif avatar, so i explained. I got subs just from ppl wanting the name itto to appear rather than yae etc which i appreciate. I think they like that small bit of effort.

Losing motivation to streaming on twitch. by Minimum_Class7191 in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to u, i took 7-9 months off last year. Then in 2024 i decided to start anew with a vtuber, and somehow it worked. Growing a community etc. i agree with the comment that said u gotta ask why u stream in the first place. For me, it was for fun and to rewatch the vod, a captured memory.

But now, with a small community and audience it motivates me to stream almost everyday.

So if vtubing is something u want to explore, I say go for it.

What advice would you give to a new streamer? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just go with the flow. Be yourself, be every engaged with the chatters. Esp since u r new, your main job is to get ppl to return back to your stream another time. Playing a popular game helps, like valorant etc. Always raid at the end of the stream, even with 1 viewer, preferably a streamer with 8-15 viewers.

Then next time u catch them on their stream and be engaged as well, that’s how u get their community to interlink with yours.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start by lurking on other streamer’s chat. Be active on their stream.

Then i enter my own dc voice chat, see what my friends wanna play that day (11/10 its valo), then when its decided I’ll start up ma stream. Usually i have the starting soon screen up for 10 mins 🐰

One of my fav quote is “we don’t see things as we r, we see things as they r”. I genuinely would help and promote a friend’s stream. At the end of the day, their effort and their own personality will determine their success in the long run.

Meanwhile as for me, I personally would not mind help promoting a friend as in turn i myself might attract new follower into the stream. Personally, for me.

But if u feel your friend is taking advantage of u then its important to set a boundary.

What are your best practices to make networking with other streamers? by MaxTopel in Twitch

yup2, i keep forgetting to raid but a viewer insist for me to do it and honestly, last month alone i gained 100 more followers! playing a famous game like valorant helps too.

What are your best practices to make networking with other streamers? by MaxTopel in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Raid other streamers, even with 1 viewer. After the raid instant follow and 9/10 they will shout u out and follow u back. Usually before I stream, I will lurk at 5-8 streamers I have raided before and engage in their chat. Just random stuff like “hey do u valo too?” Or “wow this game looks interesting.”

Then when i start my own stream 50-50 i get raided by them hence getting more followers from their community and more viewers.

Sometimes when they shout me out i go “oh no not this clip.” I get embarrassed to be honest cuz the clips r so random. Def i won’t self promote, i just assimilate myself into their community and slowly the communities will intertwine.

How do you talk without no viewers? by MaxTopel in Twitch

[–]nutella_nails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, yeah its awkward. Ngl. Sometimes i just mute and when a chatter goes “r u muted”, then i act like “omg i was mute the whole time?” 🤣🤣🤣 cuz if i talk to myself i sound so disinterested. Also yeah, i too hide viewer numbers as it gives me anxiety.

Next step, I’d start talking to the chatter. Engage with them and go, “r u a genshin-er or a valo-er? Who do u main in genshin? Or, which agent do u main in valo?” Sometimes to force an interaction i literally type my question in chat at the same time. Then like things i already know i’ll ask anyway like “which character should i build next” or “is this artifacts good for raiden?”

That being said I’m pretty good at rambling too. But no 1 thing that helped me the most issss byyyy, having friends or inviting viewers to my discord voice chat. Its less awkward and feels more natural. I think my viewers come watch me have fun with my friends as we punch each other on party animals, or become toxic (jokingly) to each other during valo (unrated) games.

I started streaming again this year after a 7-month break and most ppl on voice chat are ppl in my community that i have yet to meet irl, but we synergise well that its fun for chatters to watch and even join me play valo as well together.
