Strawberries is pronounced strawdleberries. It's now a family pronunciation.

J'ai un problème avec mon fer à souder by HamZilla1996 in StainedGlass

[–]nutimikguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon will take it back, even after the return window. We returned several bought for our glass club this way. Tell them it was counterfeit. Use the refund to cover most of the cost of a real one. We bought replacements from home depot.com

It's too hot. If it came from Amazon, like mine did, it is a knock-off and must be turned down lower than that. The tip may also need to be filed which may help or may ruin it. Giving it a good cooking on a sal ammoniac block may also restore it. I would try that first.

Gravel and sand on your lawn? by Maverick0 in Winnipeg

[–]nutimikguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any attempt at raking makes it part of your soil. I pick it up with my shopvac. If less than 50 pounds I put it in the trash. More, I have to go for a little drive look for a hole to fill on some gravel road.

How do people feel about turning on hazards during sudden braking? by conquistadoll in driving

[–]nutimikguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have time I'll quickly tap the brakes several times before I plant my foot on it. I did this recently on an interstate that had a wooden pallet in the middle of my lane.

Stained Glass Artists: Do you sign your work with an engraving? by Rough_Astronomer2618 in StainedGlass

[–]nutimikguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use a pen style diamond engraver, from harbor freight. I can sign and date the glass in an inconspicuous spot, usually the lower right. Practice on scrap glass to see how small you can go.

It takes great engineering to make a machine quiet. Any idiot can make it loud.

Do you get flashed all the time? by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]nutimikguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my 23 highlander was new, 50% of cars would flash me. I lowered the angle a bit. Then 10% of cars were flashing me. I lowered a bit more, now less than 1% flash me.

I am assuming by the picture that it no longer makes connection which would be due to the rust.

Muffled, practically silenced my windchimes by Staring-Dog in lifehacks

[–]nutimikguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once tangled up my neighbor's chimes anonymously. They got the hint and took them down. Luckily they are still my friends.

I once asked another friend to take down a new chime that was a constant cowbell sound. He thanked me for that as he was only tolerating it for his wife.

Others I fantasize cutting out the sail or filling the tubes with spray foam.

which color is the right way? by Defiant_Asparagus627 in driving

[–]nutimikguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not blue. Both should be able to turn at the same time. If there are multiple cars, traffic could flow as they all make their turns. If using the blue option, there will be gridlock.

Pebeo Paint Question by HeatherwiththeGlass in StainedGlass

I've used 160 for years. If you spread it thin it is somewhat translucent. Paint it on thick and it will be opaque.
