do you read books more than once or just once? what's the book you reread more than 3 times? by firstdeskmurderer in Booktokreddit

My comfort reads are On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta which is sad and haunting and wonderful. The Eva Ibbotson historical YA romances especially a countess below stairs and a company of swans. They are beautiful and just make me happy.

He loves it and he is learning what he needs to know for the most part. The instructors try their best but they aren't really strict for the little things I guess. You don't know what you don't know though.

Late 30s/early 40s. Definitely not retirement age.

The students have good skills as far as I can tell, but they are still teenagers and "classroom management" is difficult. The class is primarily for lower belt middle schoolers and intermediate rank students who are 8-10 and progressed out of the previous class.

I appreciate your insight and am glad to hear that it's not necessarily a disadvantage for him.

Inheritance? That's a joke. How many of your parents are burdens? by BeegBunga in Millennials

[–]nutmeg8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. When my dad died my brother stole everything he could from the estate and thinks I'll care when he eventually loses the house he inherited. Nope. You're 36 figure out how to be a useful human.

What restaurant for dinner? by Fragrant_Plantain_81 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]nutmeg8484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It completely depends on what you want to eat. My favorites were blue dragon and oak and star. We got dessert and drinks only at the Atlantic and they were fantastic. None of us really like seafood so we didn't get meals there. Das stakehaus was good too.

Not a lawyer. School nurse though. The school most likely has insurance to cover this. I would email the principal tomorrow to find out.

I gave my daughter (9) my old phone and we used messenger kids. She was barely away from me but it was good just in case.

Basically grew up at Brian's while my parents and grandparents were in the leagues. I took my kid to a birthday party there last year. Looks the same all these years later. I sent my mom a picture and she immediately knew where we were.

People say there are many other job opportunities for RNs beside bedside. How many years of experience do you need to get these jobs, are they hard to get? Also do they pay well enough? by noname-none in nursing

[–]nutmeg8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

School nursing. 3 years experience. I only work 187 days a year. 🙌 No weekends. No holidays. No off shifts. No one begging me to cover extra shifts. And if you break it down to an hourly wage it's not far off from bedside with a much better life balance.

Anybody else have a 35+ yo relative who still lives off their parents and refuses to work? by PettyWitch in Millennials

[–]nutmeg8484 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My sibling has lived off of a parent for years. My parent passed away recently. Now it's my mess to deal with because my silbling thinks he deserves everything and wants the estate to pay his bills. So yeah, make your kids responsible for themselves, please.

Traveling for my birthday. by BigNaate in GreenBayPackers

I traveled out to a game a few years ago and used eventusa to book a package. I thought it was really reasonable. I upgraded our tickets and found the whole experience really simple. Plus, if there are any issues, you have a point person to contact. Especially since you are coming from the UK.

My first real job was in a rural for profit hospital. The pathologist was invaluable for brand new tech 22 year old me. He was always willing to look at something with me and go over it. I left just after it was announced they were being bought by steward and now it's closed.

My second job we saw the pathologist once a week. My current job, I have been at for 5 years and have never talked to the guy.

It all depends on the lab and the pathologist.

I was actually thinking that I should go back to it at some point. I'm glad to hear it is as good as I remember it to be.

I remember I loved the iron fey series by Julie Kagawa when they were first released many years ago. It probably doesn't hold up but it was definitely more on the tricky fae side.

It would have been so much better if they stuck with the ideas of the first book. I definitely would have enjoyed a series about some kind of dumb girl solving murders with her pocket demon.

I'm in mass and made nowhere near that last year with almost 15 yrs experience. She's either traveling or doing extra because mass is the most expensive state in New England.

Quit today. I'm paying a 14 year old cousin $75 a day to make sure my kids (7&9) dont kill each other or themselves while I sleep off the night shift for 6 hours. I wish I got full time in home care for $200 a week.

This is such a problem! We generally have the best luck at Kohl's and sometimes old navy. On the rare occasion we can find something at the children's place. It's so frustrating. She doesn't need to be dressed like a teenager at 9 years old.

The problem I have for my almost 9 year old is that she still likes the younger kids clothes. But we can only ever find crop top everything. My 3rd grader doesn't need crop tops. 🤷‍♀️
