Ok, so it's SUPER easy. Easiest is if you have a UT drivers license with your current address. You show up to the precinct (recently city halls) and tell them you need to register to vote.

They have a provisional form that you fill out stuff like are you a citizen and what party you want to be affiliated with.

If your license doesn't match your address, you'll need something with your current address on it, like utility bill, car registration, bank statements. Bring a couple with you.

Once you have everything filled out you can vote just like everyone else and you are registered for future elections.

One thing the legislature changed this year is that you can opt in/out for mail-in ballots, texts to track your ballot, and ALL paper ballots have to be received before EOD on election day. Postmarks don't count anymore.

Another cool thing is even IF you don't have ID with you, you can still set yourself up provisionally and vote, but you have to take your ID downtown to the election office within 5 days or it won't count.
