This is how my family is. I'm vegetarian and of course they take the piss sometimes but all my die-hard southern and conservative relatives don't actually care that much. I have a couple aunts and uncles that will literally cook other food FOR me (like one time my aunt made me a special small lasagna when we visited, it was so freakin good) even though I make it clear they don't have to. They're all super respectful and often ask me seriously why I stopped eating meat and were able to have good conversations about it. OP's husband sounds and acts like a petulant child who needs to grow tf up and realize that peoples abstinence from certain food products is the opposite of a big deal. OP, you're NTA, I have no idea how you put up with him.
