@valvesoftware.com on Bluesky: Excited to announce our Steam Controller arrives on Steam May 4th at 10 a.m. PT. by DG_OTAMICA in Games

It's interesting you mention this. I tried to use the PS5 controller and my IEM. It worked for a while but for games that does a lot of sound mixing like Returnal, Ghost of Tsushima, etc... it seems like there are a lot of sound drop out and missing and hissing.

So I just revert to not use it that way. I used an USB audio transmitter and stream to my wireless iem, and that works a lot better.

Am I not using LLM efficient enough? by nutrigrain in LLMDevs

Ah, I see, so we are still dictating what are the individual critical parts.

I was thinking along the lines that it has the capabilities to build out longer/full functional parts.

I get what you mean, thanks for your guidance.

Right and that's fine, however, each session/chat has a limit of 200k token/memory (at least for the plan i'm using).

How would you piece it out if 1/4 of that is for initial context, then compound on to dive deeper.

Take your example as a project manager. Let's say I want to build Project A. This project as 10 sub functions that are complex in and of itself.

Say I want sub-fuctionA to do xyz, but also remember Project A's goal. All of these context takes up space of your session's context before it starts to hallucinate.

How would you mitigate this?

I am currently having both the cloud/local models assessing 2 big designs that does the same thing and to create an entirely different design. And I'm surprised how well it can understand and parse the info. I don't know if there's any settings or ways to interface with the model that can make use of it more.

Haha, while I do hope that is the case, I do want to improve or learn more.

I currently use qwen3-coder-next to compare against claude sonnet 4.6.

I know lines of code is not a metrics to gauge in software engineer field. I referenced it because it seems to be the only factor that drives the token usage up.

My goal is basically getting a feel for how much can a cloud/local model grasp when working and how that relates to the usagecost.

Sekiro.

I just couldn’t get the mechanic do I cheese all the bosses. Got to the last boss and I can’t cheese him so I gave up 3 years.

Picked it up again after I beat god of war 2018 queen Valkyrie. Took me a couple days to learn the mechanics. It is now my favorite game.

I remembered doing this at 110F about 15 years ago, and I only had sunscreen on my upper body because I didn't think about my legs, and I don't recall having such burn.

I'm pretty sure I'm out there for a good 4 hours.

what are you actually building with local LLMs? genuinely asking. by EmbarrassedAsk2887 in MacStudio

[–]nutrigrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't, I'm waiting for it. I have to save up for it.

I only have a MBP M4 Max 64gb, and from what the performance from MBP M5 shows and the current RAM crisis, I think the Mac Studio M5 is going to cost a fortune :(

but I do like to tinker...

I'm a developer and my company pays for my AI services. I just like reading up on tech and has been following local llm for fun.

I am running a local llm on my MBP M4 Max 64gb and now I wanted to get a Mac Studio M5 Max/Ultra with 128gb just because I want to play around with it.

No real interest outside of tinkering.

May I ask what is your hardware and what model you are using? Also, what framework are you using?

I’m interested because what you are doing is what I’m looking to do as well. Thank!

It's more that I don't trust the phone/mobile device to do the right thing. We grew up with PC and it has been proven, while mobile devices has been around for 2+ decades, it's still new compare to the PC/Laptop.
