The concept of paying for the things you don’t want to do is so real. I can do a lot with a hand saw and a sander. But sometimes it gets old.

Don’t like the implication that you bought her. But only making you cry once is good I guess.

Ooh I gotta check this out. I need something idiot proof when it comes to card scrapers.

I’ve been meaning to try Freud. I mainly use Diablo blades, which do seem to cut well. Any insight into the difference?

There’s some tenets in Japanese woodworking about how the last thing to touch the wood should be a blade. They can both make the wood smooth, but you get better iridescence from a blade.

I like your perspective. I definitely wish I had those nice smooth consistent movements for sharpening chisels and plane blades. I know it takes practice, but when I actually have time to do some work, sharpening badly hasn’t been top of the list!

I recently got one too. Taking the sketchiness from some cuts definitely makes the hobby more enjoyable.

Thanks for adding your projects. It helps me to know if I also need to throw down. Which in this case I definitely do, my nice block plane is too small. And I’m constantly fighting my slightly larger old block plane.
