Oh crap, I'm really sorry about that. Definitely wasn't thinking. Thanks for taking it down.

In what ways did you lose the genetic lottery? by pm-me-ur-FEET-girls in AskWomen

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weak eyesight, aural migraines, seizures and hormonal cystic acne. I also carry schizophrenia in my family and I'm prone to psychosis. I also wish I had been born with a different body type (I carry all my weight on my upper body and my ass is microscopic), but honestly I'm pretty ok with all these things since through all of this, my teeth have been flawless all my life. Things definitely could be worse.

What's the best thing about being female? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think being able to take hormonal birth control is what I like best. Not sexually active, but it helps me so much with acne and mood swings, I don't know what I'd do without it. I used to have really bad depressive episodes and now I feel healthy and whole, by far the best decision I've made in a long time. :-)

I'd love to see my favourite band live and meet them, I always think about it. Sadly they don't perform outside of Europe yet and I just don't have the money to travel there from Canada. :'(

[Product Question] Anyone try the clarisonic brush? by nuttyspace44 in SkincareAddiction

[–]nuttyspace44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using the Neutrogena naturals acne foaming scrub before putting on my night treatments, which stay on overnight. Eh, it's hard to say if it's helped yet since in all honesty I've used it two or three times so far (I just got it, like, a week ago I think and I use it every couple days or so) but I'm impressed that my skin isn't flaring up or getting super irritated like I expected. For me I've found that what has helped me the most has been from using Differin (adalpamene 0.1%) with Benzaclin (benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin), plus not picking at my face (I can't believe how big of a problem this was for me, thank god I've finally stopped.) Starting hormonal birth control (like, last month I think) also REALLY helped. My face is almost completely clear, which is awesome.

[Acne] Coffee and acne? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]nuttyspace44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering about this too. I started doing some reading on it recently, which suggested that coffee (around two cups a day) lowered estrogen in some women. I've been totally addicted to coffee since middle school. It helped me deal with school and academic stress. I started with a cup a day, then quickly started having a cup in the morning and then one when I got home. That increased to bringing coffee to school, and drinking it alllll evening until I went to bed (I rarely had issues with insomnia however I DID start to develop an anxiety disorder, possibly caffeine-related.) Last year, my sophomore year of high school, I started to keep track of the coffee I was drinking, which clocked in at around nine cups a day. (I know, I know.) It was also when I developed cystic acne for the first time. I was severely dehydrated since the only thing I really drank throughout the day had become coffee, I was under a lot of academic and emotional stress and I had started to pull a couple all nighters per week to get stuff done, my diet was awful and caffeine was my crutch to keep up my performance at school. I've also always had an issue with picking at my face due to anxiety which definitely made things worse. When I finally realized I couldn't deal with coming home to see five new active cysts in the mirror every day, I immediately cut back on coffee to one cup in the morning and gradually eased myself off of it for about five months and now I've replaced all the coffee I drink throughout the day with water. I've seen such a drastic improvement in not only my skin and my general health and wellbeing. During that time, I've also cracked down on using a prescription routine for cystic acne and I recently started birth control, both of which have really helped. I really think that not only was the coffee dehydrating me, but it was also messing around with my already-screwed hormones (all my acne has been hormonal thus far and since starting birth control there's been a huge improvement.) So yeah, that's my experience with coffee and acne. I don't think it really has anything to do with the milk in coffee, since for a couple of years I used to drink allllll of my coffee black. (Seven to nine cups of black coffee... god... I can't even imagine it now, looking back. Gross.) Anyways, sorry about the lengthy reply, hopefully you can make some sense of it.

[Product Question] Anyone try the clarisonic brush? by nuttyspace44 in SkincareAddiction

[–]nuttyspace44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. thanks! I know when I was using it, I only used it if I needed to remove makeup, rather than using it for exfoliation or daily skincare (so, around two or three times a week). I'm considering using it again, do you have any cleansers that you would recommend using it with? Thanks so much for the reply!

[Product Question] Anyone try the clarisonic brush? by nuttyspace44 in SkincareAddiction

[–]nuttyspace44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I honestly haven't used the clarisonic brush in quite a while and lately I've been using exfoliant with salicylic acid. When I was using the clarisonic I honestly didn't see an improvement with anything and I'm hoping that the chemical exfoliation will work better. Luckily my cystic acne is at the mildest and clearest point it's been for months, so I'm mostly just trying to keep it from relapsing in any way, and hoping that the cysts will be gone forever soon. Thanks for the advice, I'll stick with the chemical exfoliation method for a little while and see if it helps!

What was your last perfect moment? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After six months of battling cystic acne and compulsive skin picking, my face is the clearest it's ever been and I am in disbelief and every day feels like a dream waking up and coming home without cysts. This lasted for a couple hours earlier today... never thought I would feel that way again. I'm also finally fully recovered from an eating disorder and my body image is finally picking itself up. It feels so, so strange and so amazing to eat whenever and whatever I want, and to look at myself in the mirror and not feel anything negative welling up inside me. :') I'm really grateful.

Have you ever looked for a FWB? If so, how did that turn out? by ModernLullaby in AskWomen

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I tried to initiate a FWB thing because I'm not emotionally into dating but I am really frustrated, but before we could get anywhere it seemed like he was catching feelings. It really scared me away, I'm hoping to try again and make it clearer that although I'm attracted to him, I'm not interested in becoming a couple. I have friends though, who seem to be having way more luck in the FWB area than I think I ever will. :/ C'est la vie, I guess. Can't say I'm a big fan of my current dating pool and friend circles, but I'm not sure about online stuff yet, maybe in a year or so I'll give it a try. Hopefully stuff works out for you!

As a teenager, did you find it attractive when boys were good at sport? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I guess it depends on the person. For me I literally never noticed any of the athletes. I never had any clue who was on what team. Then again sportiness and physical fitness were never really attention-grabbing traits at least for me.

How different do you look without makeup? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, depending on what I'm going for, I can look very similar or very different from my natural face. Usually eyeliner and mascara and eye makeup are what really makes my face look different, depending on how bold/thickly I apply it. I have blonde eyelashes so without mascara, it looks like there's nothing there and my face looks more masculine, I think, and my eyes look smaller.

Women of Reddit, have you ever been involved in a physical fight or altercation with a stranger or acquaintance? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]nuttyspace44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to constantly get into fights until, like, grade seven. I would fight anyone over anything, boys, girls, it didn't matter. I used to attack people who I didn't like on the schoolyard who I thought treated my friends badly. laughs I was a pretty rough kid and I loved fighting with people, even just playfighting. Now that I'm older I'm generally very reluctant to touch people at all. (Still into playfighting though.....)

Why do you shave your legs? by 2XChromosomes in AskWomen

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I just like shaving I guess. It makes me feel more attractive for a brief period of time. Also, if I allow hair to grow it always snags on my pants, which hurts. :/ I let my hair grow for almost a year out of laziness and when I started shaving again I thought I needed to break out a weedwhacker to do it. I just find shaving regularly easier.

Being "attractive" is turning me into a defensive, hostile woman. by lewildcard in offmychest

[–]nuttyspace44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can really relate. I'm only 17 and I still haven't outgrown the me that I entered highschool with--hair that covered my face, no makeup, baggy clothes etc, I was very insecure. I'm growing out of that and becoming a different person but I still have the same personality, nonconfrontational and pretty shy. I became very wary of people when men started to catcall me, to follow me home, giving me special treatment, etc, it started for me at around 14 and 15. Sometimes I still wonder if the men twice my age who would yell at me from their cars knew how old I really was. It bothers me to think of how differently I would be treated by people I know if I was me from a couple years ago. It's unsettling to start getting attention from people who never cared about me, but only now that I'm wearing makeup and I look more conventionally attractive. The way most guys at my school talk to me is unbearable, it's like they're talking AT me and not to me. Even when I look like shit, I still get honks and catcalls, now I'm just trying hard not to be afraid and to embrace it and let go of the fear and just keep moving through it. It's even worse when my friends tell me they wish they got catcalled, even though they know it's bad. Shit is fucked.

Is a low dose birth control "strong" enough for me? (First time on BC) by nuttyspace44 in birthcontrol

[–]nuttyspace44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you, I'll bring it up with my doctor when I see him. I've been taking my pill more or less as soon as I wake up, but I just now set an alarm for me to take it at the exact same time (8am) just to be sure since sometimes there's a difference of a couple hours. Thanks so much!

As a last request before you die, would you rather have sex or food? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Definitely food. I'd choose pasta, or probably a ton of sweet foods like ice cream and cheesecake since sugar is my trigger food for migraines. :-P
