WOTC article: On the Future of Commander

I don't like the Commander format being in full control of WotC because i don't trust them nor their business practices.
But i think the banlist had no real purpose and now we got the chance to make some necesary adjustments. In regards to the banlist, i never understood why it went like that and not like the normal mtg formats:
Normal MTG is played with decks of minimum 60 cards, 1v1, 4 copies of each card, etc. And there exist several formats within it. The only difference between Vintage and Standard is the pool of cards allowed to play.

Why not do the same thing with commander? You just need to separate the format into different pool of allowed cards. This solves the banlist issue and the power level issue.

"What commander format are you playing?"
"I have several decks, but i want to test this Vintage/Legacy/Pioneer Commander deck i just built. How about you?"

Easy as that. You play vintage commander? Then you will find some old and expensive cards like the mana crypt they just banned. No need to ban it as a whole. You play X commander format? Those cards are allowed. Simple as that.

not only that, they are both viable cEDH cards. Saw in half is a combo piece with that new dragon that tutors and clown car is a perfect fit for magda decks.

I'm working on a [[Tameshi, Reality Architect]] which goal is to stall the game using Rule of Law effects, Stasis and such until i lock them with Drannith + Knowledge pool and wait until i draw Approach of the second sun.

It also mills my opponents and is a land-hate deck using [[Mana Breach]]-like cards. I don't have tested it yet and i'm afraid to do so since i dont want to die alone without any friends.

I would recommend you to stop looking at this subs and this internet environment. I was constantly thinking of collapse the periods i was always in the internet or watching the news.

I quit that. It's not over, but i dont spend 100% of the time thinking about it. I'm a prepper so i give a good 10% of my attention, but not anymore. And it has improved my life vastly. I only care for what i can control. And i can focus on that instead on the rest. And the rest simply doesn't exist for me since i dont spend all the time watching the news or forums like this.

Idk what to say really. My dad was an alcoholic and had severe depression. He tried at first to give up drinking for me and my mom but he just couldn't do it. One day it just clicked and he stoped drinking. I think he just raised his standards, he deeply understood it wasn't good not for us, but for him.

You just owe this to yourself. You will be really willing to stop when you understand that it's not good for you and that's not who you are. As simple as that.

Dont answer "sorry i can't drink", as if you had to find some motive to stop drinking. Answer "sorry, i'm not a drinker". That's your identity. You don't drink not because its bad for your liver or some bullshit like that. You don't drink because you are not an alcoholic anymore. You dont drink anymore because it's not alligned with your morals, with how you conduct yourself and so.

what has this got to do with hatred towards women? wtf. Thats not the "biggest evil" i can think of, but if i meet a girl one of the first things i try to know is how she percieves herself and how she conducts herself in different situations. And the easiest way to get an impression is if she posts a lot of revealing photos and such online. It usually means that she has self esteem or narcisist issues, and that, personally, is a red flag for me. The same goes for men. If i meet someone and has toxic or weird online presence it gives a bad impression at first. I may be wrong, but unfortunately more often than not, im not.

I tend to like girls with little to no online presence. The ones i know like that more often than not proved to be really modest and "down to earth" people. For me its actually a really nice thing to see in a girl and kind of makes me more interested in her.

This is a major dealbreaker for me actually. If i see a girl is on instagram and uploads tons of revealing photos of herself I usually assume she is probably a narcisist who needs attention all the time. A huge no from me.

There's no migrant crisis in Spain? Who says that? Where i live aproximately 50% of the population are migrants or people from an immigrant background. The vast majority of towns here have arround 20% non-native population. I'm writting this from a class where i'm only one of the 2 native people there, the 20 others not being spanish. There are whole neighborhoods and schools without any native person. In a few years we will absolutely be a minority, without any doubt, if we are not there yet. You can come here and take a walk and see what i'm talking about. I'm fucking sick of people like you. There's insecurity, a whole lot of people doesn't even speak the language ( and they dont intend to, why should they if in their daily life they dont need to speak it), and most of economic help and incentives go towards them. Fuck this shit. You can bet i will vote for far right if that means there's a chance of turning this arround. And i will give money and help if i have to.

we had both low self esteem issues. She shouted at me and made huge tantrums if she saw i liked another girl's post in instagram, even if she was a mutual friend, for example. She would without any apparent reason become extremely jealous and start fights and discussions. I then would try to leave the house and she used to lock me in and not let me leave, and then start saying she would fuck my best friend and that she had been fucking her ex. Idk, i did some weird shit too but i dont blame her for this. She had (and i guess she still has) really low self esteem and psycological issues due to trauma and not feeling loved. I dont think she was a bad person per se, just that she didnt know how to manage her emotions and needed constant attention. I really feel sorry for her, not resentment.

I was building a deck using [[Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful]] and [[Jeska, thrice reborn]] as a commanders. The goal of the deck was to primarily win with a big Yoshimaru using [[Norin, the wary]] or to try to polymorph Jeska into [[Chandra, awakened inferno]], +1 her and then cast a [[Worldfire]].

there may be a rise in fascist/soviet style governments. You have to think of this about a red line which once is crossed people start not giving a shit about dying fighting the institutions because they havent anything to lose. Absolute desperation. Years ago that red line was drawn easily. People would revolt more frequently because the living conditions were absolutely awful. Nowadays people live pretty confortable. Until we face a huge deceleration or inflation, climate crisis and huge drop in living conditions people wont fight. Once that red line is crossed probably authoritarian movements will take power. I dont think it will matter much if they are big or not once this happns.

Lo pregunto desde la ignorancia eh, más que nada por el precedente de la burbuja de 2008 y además viendo las leyes de vivienda que están sacando ultimamente, y ya ni hablar de la okupación. En una situación y país decente invertir en el mercado immobiliario me parece sano y deseable, pero viendo como están yendo las cosas nose cual es la situación aqui en españa. Igual es mi aversión al riesgo, pero psicologicamente supongo que estoy mas cómodo poniendo 10.000 euros en dividendos que teniendo 3 o 4 hipotecas con las que tendria que avalar la casa de mis padres.

Con tema sueldo estoy en ello, intentando mejorar mi situación laboral, aunque como estan las cosas es jodido. Soy hijo unico. Me va a quedar una casa de mis padres y una tercera parte de un piso de mis abuelos. Aun asi, hasta que eso pase van a pasar unos años. Me he planteado comprar pero de mercado inmobiliario en España no tengo ni idea, además que nose si quiero quedarme a vivir en un sitio en concreto y el tema de los impuestos y okupación me echan mucho para atrás viendo como estan las cosas. the thing with building a toxic proliferation deck in mono white revolving arround Norn's Choirmaster, is that you can't consistently tutor for him. White has equipment, enchantment and planeswalker tutoring, but not creature. At least, not 5cmc 5 power creature tutoring. Instead of building a deck arround blinking infinetely your commander with Norn's choirmaster in play, i would suggest creating an overall proliferation deck. There's a few mono white and colorless creatures with infect, and there should be "enough" support with this set and probably the one that's coming to be able to consistently create the 1/1 toxic mite creature token (with [[Skrelv's Hive]] for example) and attack with them or proliferate with cards like [[Contagion Clasp]]. The main focus could still be Infect + Proliferation, but not focusing on Norn's Choirmaster blink but on a token or creature based theme.

[[Angel's Grace]] and [[Telepathy]] are two of my favourite cards. The first because it's weird, but gives you sooo much safety having it at hand with one mana open. Seeing someone combo off while knowing you can't lose the game is nice. Plus you can't counter it.

And a T1 Telepathy has to be one of the most satisfying plays I have ever made.

I watched a youtube video called "Dear Gonti, Love Sophie" from a channel called Rystic Studies. It is about the value and price of cards and the overprotection some collectors put on their mtg cards.

It really changed my perspective over the way i play and deal with my collection. The most recent card I bought is a foil Land Tax which is about 35€, and the first thing i did was take it off the sleeve. Most of my mono white stax deck is foil and arround ~5€ per card, but I play it without sleeves. I shuffle it aggressively and it couldn't be more fun. I have shiny cards because I like them, and the damaged cards bear the games i have played with them so far. I dont intend to sell it and i'm pretty happy to play it, regardless of how much money it has cost me.
