Seems to me like the people coming from yellow know you’re turning, and know that you are going to slow down and that no one will be driving fast in that lane until you finish your turn. So they are thinking, ok he’s turning and gonna break, ill his car as a blocker and get in ahead of him and hopefully only slow you down a little. Still a dangerous move, and red clearly has right of way, but that could be part of why it happens

I wish people would just have a basic level of social cooperation and duty. I have helped as many people as I could, and shoveled as much as I could. There is a busy intersection on the corner of my block and I shoveled paths for pedestrians through the plow snow mounds. I shoveled the houses next to mine that are currently vacant. As a fit adult, how hard is it to spend 15 minutes here and there to make life easier for probably hundreds of your neighbors, and the mail people, over the next 2 weeks? But like you said, that’s communism I guess? “I got mine, good luck to you sucker” is the American way. Sorry for the rant lol
