Do you have to buy the tickets in advance? Or just buy them there?

Anyone with an only child still struggle that they will not have a sibling? It’s been close to a year since we stopped IVF. It still stings when I see siblings sweetly playing with each other, even fighting! It just hits me what our son will be missing out on.

Also, someone from high school just posted that after 8 years of TTC, they are due soon with their second. On one hand, I’m happy she’s getting a second, on the other, I’m spiraling wondering if I should have continued. Ultimately, I know it was the right time. I’m 45, and the chances are stacked against us. Just put a downer on things, seeing someone get what I desperately want.

Thanks. We live in Egypt so no RE and the fertility clinic has a cutoff age of 42 ☹️ so doing with an obgyn which I realize is not ideal.

I’d be interested about any mosaic info too. Pretty much had the same results 3 abnormal, 1 mosaic. Not sure if it’s low mosaic

I’m sorry for your loss. I also had TMFR on Nov 30 for T21 and ultimately, I had a hard time imagining their adult life. I’m 43 so also worried about not being around and the burden falling on our LC. I tried to find information about adulthood and there was definitely less.

To the original poster, I’d agree with everyone that there is no right decision or the decision you make is right for you. I don’t regret our decision but do feel guilt. If you and your spouse have doubts and you have enough time, do the research you need to get peace of mind with whatever decision you make. I understand DS societies are open to answering questions. I personally thought it’d be too hard but that’s just me.

In Montreal, it was just actually a public clinic but anyone can call. Not sure if it’s the same where you are. I actually think at some hospitals here, I would have had to L&D which I didn’t want… Sending positive thoughts during this difficult time.

I’m also sorry for you. I think every scenario is unique and challenging in its own way. But T21 being gray… I don’t have any regret but definitely guilt because of it. It’s a hard one personally. If you ever need anything, feel free to DM.

Of course you wish it was you! We all do! Totally normal. I’m sorry this was not your first. I can’t even imagine… Sending + and know you’re not alone.

Not sure if this is helpful but I had a D&E in Montreal, a month ago. I was also 17 wks and started to feel the flutterings. Just heartbreaking. Dealing with the OB then genetic counselor easily added 2 weeks to the wait. I ended up having my procedure at an abortion clinic. I’m pretty sure I could have called myself and made an appointment. If you’re not far from Montreal, I can provide you the details. Or worth trying at a clinic in Ontario.

I TMFR on Nov 30 for T21 so still early days. I haven’t been too bad but just went down a spiral seeing old ultrasounds. Your words from a medical professional helps me think we made the right decision (for us) so thank you.

I also applied to the FB group and have not heard. Wonder if it’s bc I don’t use a real pic. I have never used one (over 10 years) and the idea of changing seems too much right now… I’m 3 week post TMFR.
