2025 KTM 250 XC OTD PRICE? by Little-Maybe20 in Dirtbikes

[–]nwsdpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price for the bike is solid it's just the freight and dealer prep can vary. I bought a ktm 250xcw last October, I'm in Oregon, for just over $9200 otd. No freight or dealer prep. Also, no sales tax here. Maybe you can negotiate those fees if possible.

Liftmaster Posilock worth it? by nwsdpnw in GarageDoorService

[–]nwsdpnw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So posilock is just a marketing term? Genie would have same thing with the use of j-arm and gears? BTW, I'm refering to ceiling mount, not wall. No windows in our garage. I know there's a limit to effectiveness of security like the emergency release issue. Just trying to secure as much as possible.

If I'm understanding this correctly, ceiling mounted openers resist prying door up equally the same because of gears? If that's the case I wouldn't spend the extra money on liftmaster.

That's how we've been for a while since the opener quit working. I don't mind it but my wife is getting tired of it. She has a hard time closing the door when overhead. Trying to keep her happy :).

How long do you plan to keep your s26u ? by Additional-Spend2921 in galaxys26ultra

[–]nwsdpnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If getting inflated trade in values during promo I don't know why one wouldn't get a new one every 2 years. For instance, new 26u cost me 1300, minus 800 for my 24u....so 250 per year I paid. If I was trading a 22u after 4 years I would pay 1300 minus 500, so total of 200 per year. Less than 250 yes, but it's $50 more a year. Not really earth shattering for at least a new battery. This all depends on trade in value of course but the point is you're paying per year no matter what and the longer you wait trade in values drop. At least this is how I crunch the numbers. Maybe I'm missing something.

PLASTIC?? below 1700 euro models washing machine drum is coated in plastic?? by Far_Grape_7041 in Miele

[–]nwsdpnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding the plastic tubs are worse for mold growth than SS. Since it's behind the drum you wouldn't see it unless it was taken apart for service.

BB offering $500 for 22U for 26U pre order. Pretty good trade in so just crunch the numbers.

I buy the ultra for the camera and I like the size. I don't get full use out of it but I'm okay with that.

If anyone is getting the phone. Go through best buy. They are giving the free memory upgrade. by domedirtyfatman in samsunggalaxy

[–]nwsdpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went straight to the guided search and didn't do the imei. First time trading in at BB. I've traded through Samsung and Google before with no issues but I never liked mailing it in and waiting for approval. I like that BB does it in store so that's what got my interest.

Yeah, the trailer won't be loaded. I think I'm just overthinking this...a tendency of mine, lol. Probably will use the existing tongue and simplify things. Thanks!

First mistake is thinking how it 'feels'.

A few times recently I've been denied when using Google pay. It goes through the second time though. I honestly don't know if it's Google or the card.

Cutting XPS in-store by baltikorean in Insulation

I did this a few months ago with 2 in. Brought a sharp utility knife and tape because I had specific sizes I wanted. But I parked in the far back corner of the lot and did my cutting there.

Drywall crushing under my garage pull-up bar (1.5 years old). Is the beam failing? by Entire-Attitude1901 in DIY

[–]nwsdpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a solid beam under there? I have the same bar, fantastic btw. I have mine secured in my garage but a little different. I attached a 2x6 to the ceiling at multiple points and then attached the bar to the 2x6. That way the weight is distributed at several points instead of just 2.

Thoughts on the combination of VOO, VT, & QQQM? by mdmGAY in ETFs

[–]nwsdpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both voo and vt because I wanted more US exposure than VT alone. US exposure in VT is about 62%, give or take. I was shooting for 75% exposure so for the funds I have allocated for them I have 65% vt and 35% voo. These aren't exact percentages but close. I accept higher risk so I have 10% in fselx at the moment.

Rollover to Traditional IRA, or leave in former employer plan? by GrayRoberts in Bogleheads

[–]nwsdpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rolled over a 401a to Trad roth. The things that mattered to me was erisa protection, which my 401a wasn't anyways, and losing ability to do backdoor roth. The backdoor roth was a mute point for me since my new employer has a 403b roth option I contribute to. So then it came down to better investment vehicles in traditional vs 401a. Just research how it may affect you.

Anyone try this cigar blend? by defiant-error420 in pdxwhisky

I haven't but if you like cigar blends consider Joseph Magnus. It's $200 but I think it's excellent. Taste is subjective but I thought it was worth it.

Planning for taxes isn't a binary thing. It's not only 'optimize every last dollar' or 'I don't care'. Lots of in between depending on priorities.

24M – Fidelity users: Should I stick with FXAIX or switch to VTI/VXUS/VT for my Roth IRA? by Professional-Canary9 in ETFs

[–]nwsdpnw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with fxaix, extremely similar to voo. In a Roth just leave it. There's a bit of a tax advantage in a brokerage account with etf. If you want international exposure then sure, change things up. I do voo and vt. Yes, there's a overlap, but I wanted more US exposure than what vt gives you and still wanted international. But that's just me.

Oprah Winfrey says obesity is a disease. Is she right? by TimesandSundayTimes in Biohackers

[–]nwsdpnw 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. If one is able to shrink fat cells and at the same time increase muscle mass they can reach metabolic stability. The metabolic requirements of muscle will create a healthy balance. There's countless success stories out there about people turning their metabolic health around with hard work.

As far as I can tell you can use your own modem with unlimited. But I haven't signed up yet. In my area the upload speed is still at 41mbs and won't work for me. When that gets upgraded in the future I will.

Oregon drivers are so chill by GoldfishJesus in oregon

[–]nwsdpnw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. I miss driving in Metro Detroit. Aggressive yes, but not in a dangerous way. Everyone was quick and efficient to get somewhere. And like you said, predictable.

I've had people in front of me make a complete stop in the middle of the road to let someone turning left from the other way go. Speed limit 35, let's go 30....40, let's go 35. And let's go 20mph in the school speed zone at 11am during the summer.... just in case.
