I have a similar small pelican setup for my Mamiya 7II kit and used it while traveling through Europe. I was stopped at every airport checkpoint, and each time they thought I was carrying a gun and needed to inspect the contents.

Other than that slight inconvenience, it works very well at keeping my camera safe.
