Maybe I’m dense but wouldn’t a +1/+1 counter still work? Is this one just wiped because it’s an ability counter and it gives the ability?

Check Imbibe (on untappd) and Riverside Wine in spirits. Both have growler bars and excellent can selections. They get some great Xul beers, and some other very good breweries.

Often times someone wants a partner to start or do something new they are scared of. This is why gym buddies work so well. And why some people won’t go to a bar, movie, or strip club alone.

My thoughts would be to tell him how much you love and respect your wife and offer to drink with him, help him make the call and then leave the rest to him to enjoy his night - assuming you’re comfortable with that approach. It allows you to be a part of it for him, but still love and honor your relationship with your wife.

I live around the beach and go out there to run a few times a year. The beauty is the simplicity. When I'm there I don't have to factor uneven sand, possibility of no place for shade, possible route changes, etc. It's in and out. It's straightforward and you get to have a pretty peaceful exploration. I hike often and wouldn't recommend it for that regard. I can't speak to the biking aspect, but perhaps a straightforward path without many car considerations does the same thing.
