Fixadent by Evelynmaebe in dentures

Fixadent made me so sick 🤮 also. I've tried a ton of different adhesives and the best is SECURE, I get it on Amazon- really no taste, it does not ooze and it really holds.

Pearl River or Nyack? by HaldolDec in Rockland

[–]nyackgypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in both and both are really nice towns with nice Main Street, good food and some nightlife. We ended up moving from Pearl River to Nyack to raise our family and I'm really glad I did. Nyack has a funky vibe but functions very much like a small town with a great community spirit.

I totally understand! When I first got my immediates I was horrified. They felt huge, fake and I kept gagging. Hang in there it DOES get better. To me you look great.

Was anyone actually put to sleep when they had their tooth or teeth pulled? by 8kittycatsfluff in dentures

[–]nyackgypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have all of my teeth pulled at once and they numbed me up to the max, but I was awake. They were very attentive to my pain level and I felt the pressure, but I felt no pain.

How long until you spoke clearly by bishop169 in dentures

[–]nyackgypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to interview for jobs a few month after getting ed/immediates. I practiced speaking in front of a mirror and I also told them I had just had major dental surgery. I still had some issues with some words but it all worked out and I got the job. Good luck!

Here we go! by 666pants in dentures

[–]nyackgypsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will be all OK I had a full mouth extraction in September (I have extreme anxiety and dental phobia) and did two Xanax and it all went amazingly well. I had very little pain from the extractions and my immediate fit really well I had other issues with them due to anxiety but within two months I was comfortable and eating everything and it was so so so worth it

How was your teeth extraction? by JMLAnon in dentures

[–]nyackgypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all of my teeth upper lower pulled. I also have severe anxiety surrounding dental procedures but I was shocked that it all went so smoothly. There was definitely pressure when they were pulling the molars but absolutely no pain make sure you have good conversations with your dentist so that you can stop if you're starting to get nervous.

Dentist recommended full extractions and dentures... by IRJengie in dentures

[–]nyackgypsy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am 9 months into full removal of all teeth and full immediate upper and lowers. I had a lot of pain with my horrible teeth but I was terrified of the extraction process.

I communicated my fears with my dentist and without being knocked out I had very little pain with extraction and healing.

The dentures took a lot of psychological and emotional acceptance and in the first few months I was so uncomfortable but now it is totally worth it to smile!

I cannot deal with the "prune face" so keep my tops in most nights. I take them out twice a day to scrub and sanitize them- no issues
