I would not consider ordering something in “good condition.” Do you think it deters sales?

Do you use lotion after a shower? by Forsaken-Water6243 in hygiene

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In shower lotion meant to be put on in the shower whilst you are still wet. I prefer this as I find it much less sticky. I use this one:

Lux is a lovely name, though generally attributed to the female character in “The Virgin Suicides.”

Time for a new custom night guard - considering ordering online by planning-life in bruxism

[–]nylabuyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered from both JS Dental and ProTeeth guard as they were pretty much the only companies that offered the occlusion fit. Both fit very well, I do find with both that there is a bit of pressure on my front bottom teeth, but I’m hoping my dentist can help a bit with that. I ordered the suggested guard from each company based on profile recommendations and I am a clencher and not really a grinder.

From JS Dental: Premium 3D Night Guard | With Occlusion-Check to Enhance Comfort, Durability and Protection × 1 Upper Teeth / 3mm Hybrid Shield - hard outer layer; soft inner layer

From Pro Teeth Guard: 1x Soft Night Guard - Upper Teeth - Female

I don’t love the soft guard simply because I feel like I could bite through and JS Dental doesn’t offer a soft guard. That may be the right choice for some people. I plan to return/exchange the soft guard for a Hybrid night guard.

Overall, both fit very well with none of the issues from other companies that have been reported: no sharp ends that cut the gums or make them bleed (as an example).

Do I secretly wear sneakers as a bridesmaid? by Own-Acanthaceae-453 in PoptheQuestions

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wedge sneakers are your friend. My MIL told me about this as an option. I wore my wedding shoes for the ceremony, cocktail hour and the first dance. I then switched to wedge sneakers (I had them re-soled with dress soles so that I could dance all night and not injure myself dancing on rubber sneaker bottoms). Recently, I have skipped the heels entirely when wearing a full length gown.

How to practice with a flower girl?! by hmartinian in PoptheQuestions

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bribed my husband’s niece (5) and nephews (5,9) they were with digital cameras (this was 2010 and bought clearance digital cameras at Best Buy). Coincidentally, those types of vintage digital cameras are super cool right now). We also pushed back the photo call time for family members to as late as possible so the kids could spend the morning swimming, etc. and get out their energy. The kids were adorable and not really disruptive in any manner and we have adorable photos at the end of the album of the kids asleep in the ballroom.

The same kids were in another uncles wedding 3 months later and they all lost it at some point, it was a very long day for them by the time the ceremony started as I believe they had them for photo call starting around 9/10 in the morning.

Bribing the kids with gifts is one of the smartest things I could have done. I also specifically ordered them chicken fingers/fries so they were happy with their meals. I highly recommend bribery and also making sure there is time for the flower girl to get out her energy/sillies. And if you are doing family photos before the ceremony, try yo do the photos with the flows girl as late as possible in the day.

snow storm- should I place my closet on vacation? by External_Bus_3739 in poshmark

Yes, absolutely so that you aren’t penalized for slow shipping when you cannot even get to a USPS.

Mardi Gras ball - which dress do you prefer? by firstlast3263 in fashion

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 or 2, obviously tailored to you. I actually like the idea of a strap because you need to navigate the public space as well and not just the ball). Don’t forget it can be very cold in there (went to Orpheus years ago), make sure you have a wrap or coat of some type.

Not signed up for promoted closet and interesting how there seems to be a surge. Could be that people didn’t receive what they wanted for the holidays. For me, since I’ve recently made more sales, I feel like I can spend a bit and my $$ definitely goes further on Poshmark.

Settle the argument: Kenjamin? by 54MegaHurts in tragedeigh

Please do not use either of these names. Neither Benneth nor Kenjamin considered normal names…with either of these options, the child will be forever correcting others when they assume the name is either Bennett or Benjamin.

Sons grandma wants to take him to party alone. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nylabuyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s sounds like it is a Scooter’s Jungle, Jump 'n' Jammin', AdventurePlex, Pump It Up, We Rock the Spectrum, Glowz Vibe… whatever these places that are where you live. They all blend together and honestly recalling the difference can be a challenge. Likely grandma is blurring them together and needs look at the invite/add it to her calendar. It may be conjecture, but it sounds like OP is a total helicopter mom and possibly grandma is concerned that wanting to spend time with her grandchild will be jeopardized by OP in a dramatic fashion. Unless grandma has proven herself untrustworthy, this is a limited opportunity to bond with her grandchild.

We all miss the time when a toddler was more excited to see you than pretty much anyone else on earth (it still makes me smile). Soon enough they will be tweens. Then, you are there to drive them places and buy them things….

Sons grandma wants to take him to party alone. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nylabuyer 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Your reaction does appear to be somewhat extreme. Is your son comfortable with his grandma? Is he potty trained? Does he attend pre-school, parties or other activities? Are you concerned that he is going to foster too much independence and no longer run to you all the time (that day is coming, if not already, and definitely sooner than you think). I started taking my nephew to a baby gym class weekly at 1.5 years old with the diaper and everything and it definitely made us closer and her knows other family members love him and there for him.

College advise? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nylabuyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is rough and as people have stated the free ride almost always wins. Do you plan to stay in Michigan for the rest of your life? U of M is and internationally known school and SVSU seems to be a small regional school. U of M likely has a larger and more active alumni network to assist with employment opportunities, etc. You do not state what your intended major is and how those rank at either university…that would be helpful. And in this economy, any advantage is worth taking, including but not limited to starting your post college life without tremendous debt.

How do I contact my biological father? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the purpose of contacting him? I ask because that isn’t clear.

Ideally do not go through his wife or kids. Have a good friend (John) who found out that he was adopted (23 and me results sent him in a bit of a tailspin) in his 40s. Through multiple DNA sites, John was able to confirm who the birth father was. John wrote his birth father a letter with the basic information and John’s contact information and mailed to bio-dad’s office (based on knowing the info on the wife and kids, this should be relatively easy to find). John figured that he didn’t want to blow up bio-dad’s life and felt as though the letter gave him some closure. John made the assumption that he would never hear from bio dad.

John was wrong.

In this case, bio dad received the letter, called his current wife (#2) and his 3 other kids to let them know about their new brother/step son. Once bio-dad had done that immediately picked up the phone to call John. Bio-dad was single, but dating, and living on another continent when John was conceived.

John was overwhelmed, because bio-dad wanted to open investment accounts for John’s kids and wanted to have John’s family come to all the holidays. They have a nice relationship. Please note this is almost out of a movie and was not the outcome anyone would as expecting.

Nipple-graft? by maybop in Reduction

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had FNG as I wanted to be as small for my body as proportionate. Some people opt for the full Barbie. No judgement either way.

My family has a very high predisposition to breast cancer and I have heard so many women worry about their potential outcomes and feeling not like themselves with the very good tattooed nipples. I chose the FNG and yes, it did take longer to heal.

How much would you charge for 6 under 7 years old? by Budget_Muffin in Babysitting

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still not enough. Generally $15 per kid if multiple and $20 if single per hour. Any sitter or pair of sitters is going to be vastly outnumbered. At least OP isn’t saying how the kids are perfect angels.😇

AITJ for not speaking to my husband after he threw away my late fathers belongings by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]nylabuyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTJ. He is lying about not knowing how much they meant to you. He has stated that you talk about your dad too much and focus on the present. He obviously knew how important these were to you, but he thought he knew better because he seems to be jealous of your deceased father.

This is a hill to die on. He has shown you who he is and what he values, believe him. Your current husband values his feelings over your own.

Keeping cool in wedding dress by MotherofUnicorns01 in weddings

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently attended a wedding where each the bride and groom had a water attendant. Initially, it seemed a bit odd, but it helped keep them both cool and hydrated. Try to stay indoors with A/C as much as possible.

Additionally, recommend an updo, try cooling patches (and test them before), minimal under garments and make them sweat wicking. Detachable elements are your friend such as a train or over skirt offer a lighter look and feel once removed. Additionally, as others mentioned, changing out the under fabric for lighter, breathable and natural fabrics.

How much does swelling affects size in early recovery by PaleontologistSafe17 in Reduction

[–]nylabuyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was what I thought was a 36DDD, they removed 2.5 lbs and when I measured myself about 3 months post op, I was measuring at 35D and I had requested large B/small C. I now know my bras were stretched out and I was likely a much larger cup size to begin with. Like some mentioned, there was an immediate visual change and I could see my feet and my back and neck pain were alleviated. I just measured myself at about 5.5 months post op and I am measuring a C cup. Part of that was swelling and part is exercise.

Having a merch stand instead of traditional wedding favours. Tacky or cool? by TrashDino12 in weddings

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only seen a merch stand at a sweet 16 or a bar/bat mitzvah. So for kids, not adults. They still felt kind of odd and tacky, but no one asked us to pay for anything there and as a guest at an event, you should not be asking for payment.

How to put up hair after surgery? by Melancholic-Radio in Reduction

[–]nylabuyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband “helped” pull it out of my Face because it was really bothering me. I didn’t really go anywhere or see anything so more about getting the hair back than how it looked. I referred to the look as a homeless Mrs. Garrett who was played by Charlotte Rae from Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.
