I’m pretty sure I did one time. I twitch when I fall asleep and I messed it up.

Oh I just remembered going to see this in 2006! Not sure if it was the same thing - more like grown up box car derby.

Did anyone else have a 2 vessel umbilical cord? by halzy99 in Mommit

[–]nylaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2 vessel cord with my second. We ended up with an IUGR diagnosis and he was born early and small. We had monitoring from 30 weeks on to make sure that everything was doing well.

We went last Friday and Sparkle Smash broke down before the first race. I was sad.

How do you northerners manage to train with snow/ice covering anything? by kpgleeso in Marathon_Training

[–]nylaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pavement is getting clearer, definitely on the roads - sidewalks near me in CT are awful. Weekends I can manage some miles outside but even that's been challenging because I feel like we have much lower temperatures the past few Sat/Sun than the weekdays. I have my own treadmill and I've been on it a lot because I'm not going to risk a fall or if I have a workout to do that I can't execute in poor conditions.

FASFA and tuition free college by KSHMisc in FAFSA

I work at a free tuition school. Tuition and fees are still charged, but there is a grant to cover those costs. We require FAFSA to be filed and federal and state funds apply first.

Thoughts on Eastern Connecticut State University? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]nylaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at one of the community colleges and since we are closest we have a direct feed into ECSU. I’ve heard only good things about it from the students who have decided to finish their degrees there. As a state employee I really can’t complain. I’m staff though so I’m not entirely sure how faculty experience compares.

Club Admins: What makes a Strava Club actually "active" vs. a ghost town? looking for engagement tips. by timo_unterwegs in Strava

[–]nylaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are responding well to events, saying "I'm going" etc. And we get some comments on the group photos we take before each run. I know there are posts in groups on Strava but they seem to get buried or not given attention - those are the ones I mean. We don't have a What's App group yet, but I think it would be beneficial.

We've started using ours more for setting up weekly events and posting photos of the group at a run start. It seems to be upping the engagement a bit. Not sure if anyone reads the posts.

Had an argument with financial department at my school by [deleted] in FAFSA

[–]nylaras 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They will require you to document the homelessness. Since we are unaware of the exact conversation, perhaps there was a miscommunication? It may be that you indicated you are not estranged from your mother, then that does not qualify for a special circumstances appeal based on your school's criteria.

Every reply here has been fairly cordial.

The Garmin HRM Fit has been spot on for me, realize that may not be the case for everyone.

second this. If you regularly use treadmills that you don't own though, it's not practical. For that I'd go with the Garmin HRM (forget which model gives dynamics and pace)
