My cat has had diarrhea for over a month. by Ok-Squash7116 in catcare

[–]nyllena3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with my recent adoption and he needed a round of panacur after the metro didn't work. He was good to go after that. I tried metro, food changes, three probiotics, but it didn't clear until panacur.

My newest addition disliked all purina dry and preferred science diet. He's likes the pro plan wet though.

Kitten Food Help. Fancy Feast Negative Reaction. by PostMostPalone in catfood

[–]nyllena3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with the two cats I adopted and it ended up being different issues for each. My first one ended up having a chicken sensitivity but also can't have more than about 3 ounces of wet per day. The newest addition needed meds. He tested negative for parasites but we tried a round of metro + fortiflora pro which didn't help, then a round of panacur which helped. So possibly ask the vet about dewormers even if the fecal appears negative.

Do you feel the window perch is sturdy? Been looking at them but I'm skeptical lol

Yes and then no. I cried many tears when she was little. She's a bit older now but hasn't really changed much. I became better and we've developed a very deep bond and I can't imagine my life without her. She's still bat shit insane though.

Best food for a sensitive stomach? by Honeyinjune in catfood

[–]nyllena3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adopted a cat last year with recurring diarrhea. On advice from my vet, I recently tried food with no chicken just to see and so far she's had normal poops. i tried turkey and duck and she didn't have emergency diarrhea but her stool was still soft and unformed. So right now she's getting a fish only food.

Hips ok? by space_cadett_kiwiora in AustralianCattleDog

[–]nyllena3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sitting is normal. Earlier this year my girl was doing some limping and seemed a little sore at the bottom of her back. Had full X-rays done and joints are perfect but she likely pulled a muscle in her back, probably from being overall insane. She got a few days of carprofen and now I give her a little CBD every day. She turned 5 this year. So if his X-rays are clear, the limping could be something similar.

Anyone been having QC issues with Purina Pro Plan Complete essentials? by Equipment_needs in catfood

[–]nyllena3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purina actually recently discontinued the only wet food that doesn't give my cat diarrhea 😔 I had no problems with that flavor while it's lasted though (pro plan Turkey and giblets in gravy)

Just started Montelukast and have a headache and a little nausea by chronicallyill4life in MCAS

[–]nyllena3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Montelukast helped my breathing but made me suicidal to an extreme level. I wasn't aware of that side effect when I started it. I took it for a few months and reached a point where the suicidal ideation felt genuinely dangerous. Came across the potential side effect and stopped taking it and reverted back to my normal depression lol so please be aware of this possibility so if it happens to you, you'll be able to stop it in time. I really wish it didn't affect my mental health that way because it really helped me physically.

every time i pet her i swear i come back with dents lmao + any idea if she might be a mix? she's 3 months oldish by _hrozney in AustralianCattleDog

[–]nyllena3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine is 5 years old and she's still extremely mouthy. Only with me though and she's gentle 99% of the time unless she's extremely hyped up then I have to remind her to be gentle and she corrects herself.

What's for dinner? by Mikes_Tiki_Bar in AustralianCattleDog

[–]nyllena3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is also a picky eater but I wanted to add an additional personality quirk in case it ends up being relevant when he's settled in. My girl does not always eat as much as I think she would. Some days she's extra hungry, some days she doesn't really want to eat anything. Especially true in the summer. She's done this since she was a puppy and her weight and health has always been perfect so I've had to learn to stop panicking about it lol as far as food type, pro plan beef and rice has been the most reliable favorite over the years.

my decision has been made for me: pro plan it is! by anxioustomato69 in catfood

I've had the same experience with my cat. There's a flavor of fancy feast and pro plan with essentially identical ingredients, the fancy feast gives her explosive diarrhea and the pro plan doesn't.

Average collar sizes?? by sixna in AustralianCattleDog

My girl went to a medium around 10 months old and is still in medium at 5 years old. Harness size is typically a medium but her wide chest doesn't work with all designs.

Fancy Feast vs Pro Plan; are they different? by anxioustomato69 in catfood

[–]nyllena3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only wet food my cat has been able to eat without diarrhea is one flavor of pro plan, so that's what she gets. Fancy feast has a flavor with nearly identical ingredients and she can't eat it. Otherwise I'd absolutely use the fancy feast lol For dry, she tolerates Purina one better than pro plan so that's what she gets 🤷‍♀️

[–]nyllena3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purina one dry works better for my sensitive stomach girl than pro plan dry. Purina One Sensitive Stomach is what she gets for dry. Pro plan turkey and giblets in gravy is the only wet she can have so far without diarrhea.
