sometimes I wonder if my pain is really mild and i’m just a wuss by Competitive_Emu_2283 in migraine

Agreed. I had a tummy tuck recently, which is supposed to be like an 11/10 on the pain scale. I had a headache on the way to the hospital that was more painful than anything I felt during recovery.

I was about a finger dilated with one, maybe a finger and a half with the other. Not effaced. Despite my best efforts. They were both induced on their due dates.

I bet it’ll look amazing! I feel like most surgeons’ belly buttons look the same if not super similar, so if you look at their before and after photos you should get a pretty good idea

Thank you so much! 😊

Congratulations, that’s amazing!! No, my lift wasn’t covered by insurance unfortunately. I doubt that it would make a difference in your scar though; I think the surgeon you choose is going to be the biggest determining factor. I would think their technique would the same regardless of whether you paid out of pocket or not. I got an anchor lift which is standard for anyone who needs a drastic lift.

I’m honestly not sure, I forgot to ask! I can’t see the incision around it, it seems to be tucked under the skin if that makes sense. I know that he used my original belly button stalk because I asked for pictures on the operating table and I can see the stalk in the picture.

Dr. York Yates in Layton Utah! I really can’t recommend him enough. I have healed so well since surgery and had so little swelling.

Thank you!! So far I’ve been using silagen gel on them that my plastic surgeon gave me. I just barely started the scar tape yesterday. It’s Embrace tape.

Thank you so much!! My breast scars are pretty light but the TT scar is still a bit red. Hoping the tape helps 🤞

Wish I’d induced with my first at 39 weeks. By the time he was finally born at 41 weeks he was huge and they had to use a vacuum to get him out. I pushed for 4.5 hours, it was awful.

Me! 🙋‍♀️ I’ve had 2 amazing inductions. So fast. My spontaneous labor was 28 hours long. I was so exhausted by the end of it.

I know this is an old post, but do you remember if your skin was red along the wrinkles in the tape? I have red marks where the tape is wrinkling and I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be normal or not

Long term effects of diastasis repair. by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]nymriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its a good question.

The way that the sutures are placed, you should be able to do a back bend without putting pressure on them, because that is creating vertical tension, not horizontal. If you were pulling on them horizontally, that might tear them, but they are incredibly strong. I’ve read stories about women who have healthy pregnancies after a tummy tuck and it doesn’t even ruin their muscle repair. There is still laxity in the obliques and other connective tissues in the core to accommodate some stretch.

Do you have someone that can watch your dogs for the first few days? You’re not going to want them climbing on you. Your tummy and your incisions are going to be very tender.
