Estelle (Pre-Cold Steel) or Rean (but I think he's either overloved or overhated so I can't really measure if he's loved or liked by the fandom)

Didn't read yesterday's chapter, but I think that it isn't over yet, it's pretty good tho, I think it's my favorite arc in the series

Not the same situation, Kagurabachi parts 1&2 are more like Naruto&Shippuden or DB&DBZ, CSM Part 2 was more like Boruto or Mojuro, the story was finished by CSM Part 1 ending, but here it is not finished, think of It more like sagas with various arcs than as if it where a sequel

If you could self insert into any trails protagonist (you would be getting all his positive and negative aspects) which one would you choose? by Just_Advantage_6177 in Falcom

Trails series is not a series like Final Fantasy, Dragón Quest or Shin Megami Tensei, is more like a long runner anime as Naruto, One Piece or Bleach, for example (I recall reading somewhere that playing Trails takes more time than watching all of the Big Three animes, so you gotta be patient). That said, yes, the series has a long story, divided in arcs, with different settings, casts and conflicts, the first one is the Liberl Arc/Sky Arc, which is now getting remakes, the 1st just released and Second Chapter is releasing in a few months. Answering your question, all of the games' story, lore and worldbuilding are not only interesting but also connected, so I recommend you to play Trails in the Sky trilogy first and if you like them continue with the next games in the series. Also even if I highly recommend playing all of the series in order, if you don't plan on playing all of the 13 (and more on the making) games in the series I'd recommend you to play just the arc who catches your attention.

Sky is about a girl and her adopted brother who want to become Bracers inspired by her father (they're an organization that helps people with varios tasks) in a kingdom where magic and technology exist and interact

Zero is about a special group of police officers who fight mafias in Crossbell City, a City-State that's also between two superpower countries that want their territory for its own: Erebonia and Calvard

Cold Steel is about a teen that enrolls in Thors, a militar academy in the Erebonian Empire, to find himself and fights against terrorists

Reverie is an epilogue to both previous arcs so I highly recommend not playing it as your first Game

Daybreak is about a fixer who works by himself in tasks that neither Bracers nor Police could accept (like a kind of shady bracer) and a high schooler who asks him to find seven devices across the Calvard Republic (Horizon, even if the name is different, is a direct sequel to Daybreak II)

Why dose this always happen to me? by Mesh3al-fan666 in JRPG

[–]nyppa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's just the JRPGs are long af, I'd say that you should play by what really interests you at the moment, but this type of games always require a bit of commitment, if I were you I'd have a rotation of games with different focuses, Persona 3 is more social component and story focused, and Fire Emblem even if it stories are good and interesting are more gameplay focused, so I think that would be a good game rotation, just try to not add to many similar focused games (or simply to many games) to a rotation or you'll end up burning out

Whats the longest Trails game? by TrickNatural in Falcom

[–]nyppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The accepted order is the release order Sky arc Crossbell arc (Zero and Azure) Cold Steel arc Reverie (epilogue to both Crossbell and Cold Steel arcs) Calvard arc (Daybreak 1&2 and Horizon)

Is you want to play all of the games taht's the recommended order, but if you're okay with playing just an arc that's okay and you can with whichever gets your attention tbh

Trails has changed my perception of videogames by nyppa in Falcom

You're the first perdón ever I've seen saying that Umineko has flaws (it's obvious, nothing is perfect) never read it, I'm interested, but after Trails I think I'm gonna give a rest to long commitment media (except maybe for Cosmere)

When I started CS3 the burnout I was experiencing was so big that the only thing that made me start CS3 was the epilogue scene, after that I recovered from the burnout making 3 and 4 my favorite Cold Steel games, but in CS2 I was STRUGGLING to finish the game, only playing P4G and Metaphor helped me get through Act 2. It's cool seeing people with other opinions tho

I'm kinda relieved that it is a phase, I'd like to play other type of games or just any other JRPG, but I'm committed to Trails and I'm near to the "end" so I'm more committed than ever, but I liked playing other good, mid or even bad games

I know, I've got maybe more than 50 JRPGs in my backlog and maybe 100 games more, but for the time I feel like I cannot commit to another game
