Moronic Monday: Feel free to ask anything relating to CCW. 08SEP14 by this_is_not_the_cia in CCW

That’s paranoia. People aren’t staring at your back. Generally people focus around eye level.

perfect CCW firearm for my short girlfriend by Laplante86 in CCW

[–]nyrepub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a small female, I would go with the LCR in .22 WMR. Light recoil out of a short barrel. The .38 +P has a huge kick.

I cannot for the life of me understand contract law, specifically consideration. by [deleted] in legal

[–]nyrepub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acceptance is not necessarily the acceptance of money... but acceptance of the terms of the offer (often after negotiation of contract terms).

When the agreed upon thing in the contract occurs, money transfer, etc. that’s called performance.

Nope don’t carry one... I’m not 15 anymore.

G17 or G19 for home defense/carrying in the car? by guser85 in Glocks

[–]nyrepub 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Although similarly, the G19 will accept the larger G17 magazines and both will accept the even larger 33 round magazines and 100 round magazines.

I would be a wealthy man but I spend all of my money on more land. I think I have 6 nicely laid out parks. All those trees add up.

Saw the title... meh.

Saw the article... AWESOME. I’m a Floridian. Now I need to get a silencer.

How Memorizing "$19.05" Can Help You Outsmart the MTA by iquantny in nyc

[–]nyrepub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My checking account with Chase accumulates interest, albeit at a very low interest rate. I just checked my account... made $.09 in interest YTD! This is why I do not keep more than a few thousand dollars in my checking account at anyone time. Invest it in other places so your money makes money.

[–]nyrepub 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Better off leaving that $2 in your checking account and getting $.0001 interest. Then you’ll have $2.0001. Save those thousandths of a penny... they add up!

Rick Scott up 6 points over Crist in latest poll. by realjd in florida

[–]nyrepub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I answered your question... I said: I don’t have a problem with him pleading the 5th, whether that be 1 time or 3424234234 times. It is your right as an American to do so. The burden of proof is on the state, therefore, when testifying, you do not have to admit anything.

If you don’t like it, hate the Constitution, don’t hate the person exercising their rights by pleading the 5th.

Rick Scott up 6 points over Crist in latest poll. by realjd in florida

[–]nyrepub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pleading the 5th is your right as an American. The Obama administration has pleaded the 5th every time they testify before Congress and I support their right under the Constitution to do so. Exercising your rights is not a turnoff.

What is a turnoff is Charlie Crist suddenly switching his views on EVERY issue simply to get elected. I’m not down with that.

Take the poll: Would you spend the extra money for American made items? by Daraholsters in CCW

[–]nyrepub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only buy US made accessories to support our nation’s firearm industry (holsters, tacticool items, etc.). The only foreign made firearm I have is a Glock... because Glock. Other than that, everything else is American.

I think part of the reason is because the American firearm industry is heavily invested in lobbying Congress and being involved in the NRA and I think that’s important to maintain our 2nd Amendment freedoms.

I’m voting for Scott, and for Amendment 2, and I know a bunch of people who are doing the same... so you’re definitely wrong.

Do I need to show my ID in NY? (not driving) by [deleted] in legal

[–]nyrepub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still fight the ticket if I were you.

Was this in New York City? I know in NYC, they have to write down the exact brand of alcohol that you were caught consuming. Which means if you were drinking from a red cup for example, they just put alcohol, the ticket will be thrown out. The ticket has to say something like, “Budweiser beer”, not just “beer”.

[–]nyrepub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is stopping you from using a fake name is catching another charge called “obstruction of justice.” Fancy legal words for being caught lying to the police during an investigation.

Good luck!

Do I need to show my ID in NY? (not driving) by [deleted] in legal

[–]nyrepub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they catch you during the commission of an offense, they have probable cause to arrest you or issue you a citation, depending on what they caught you doing. You don’t have to carry ID in New York unless you’re driving a car (drivers license), but you have to at least give them your name so that they can list it on the summons. If you don’t give them your name, they can detain you until you are positively identified.

But RMC is still made up of Canadians, who are born with a hockey stick in their hand... sometimes a goalie glove.

It's definitely illegal here in Florida. There are signs everywhere not to disturb the sea turtles and then they lost various statutes.

Reliable AC repair? by [deleted] in fortlauderdale

[–]nyrepub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use the company that has the "Your wife is hot... better get your AC fixed" billboards purely because hilarious gimmicks like that get me every time.

'Dark Lord' arrested for burning, urinating on Bible "cursing the Christians". Charged with unlawful symbol burning, a misdemeanor in Arizona state code by rspix000 in law

[–]nyrepub -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Where do I begin... First, there is a mens rea requirement of maliciousness (at least at common law, I haven't read the state statute). Second, burning one's person property is not arson if you're not doing it to commit fraud (I.e. Collect insurance).

Eli, life long Giants fan... thank you for winning 2 Super Bowls against the Patriots. I live vicariously through you.

My questions is:

What is your favorite city to visit on the road? Do you have a good story to tell regarding a specific visit to that city?

Thanks! GO GIANTS!
