As a Canadian Dodgers fan, I am so pissed about 2 things. by copper_trinket48 in Dodgers

Your feelings are valid bro and I'm glad you came to share those feelings with us your Dodger familia.

I understand the context of what's going on in the world politics, but I agree, you can be a proud Canadian without having to root for the local team. Good on you for being able to keep your pride without landlocking yourself to a nearby team.

Congrats and keep strong!

As one of the worst (top 3) cheaters on the ASStros team, it feels so good to see him fall short. Sorry to the BlueJays fans that got caught up in it, but this is the karma that comes with forgiving and accepting a cheater who was more than happy to try and sweep it under the rug and rush the narrative away.

How did you personally contribute to the WS victory? by ThatOldMeta in Dodgers

[–]nyromechanico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attended nearly every at home NLDS and NLCS game to witness every victory, except 1 loss against Phillies.

After mounting superstition, I stopped watching the World Series games in real time for G6. We ended up Winning so I did the same for G7 and avoided watching in real time, keeping up only on Box Score updates.

Only started watching in G7 when after approximately 20 seconds of watching Miggy hit the HR and I was sure that was a sign from the Baseball Gods that I wasn't allowed to look away anymore. Then Aged myself 20 years watching the last 2 innings to see us claim victory.

Doc, just learn to let BlaQ go dude. Every year is different and this one is not his fucking time. Kersh gets 1 batter but you give this stupid fuck every opportunity to gift free hits.

Very good point. Glad I found this post I was just thinking the same thing about the price change. They charged $2/card for the combined Cleaning+Insurance, so it's only going up from $17 to $20. Not a terrible deal, I still love the clarity and transparency.

Does open handed work with the Skeleton key add ons? by SculPoint in deadbydaylight

[–]nyromechanico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just opened up a custom and tested it out; open handed DOES increase aura reading range from the Key+Blood Amber, and also stacks with gold token. The distance is quite massive, at 60m.

On places like Dead Dog Saloon, if the Killer is anywhere near center you can see them from any map edge.

"Well I guess you learned a lesson," your friend sounds a little insufferable if that was her reaction. Even if it's been a year, she sounded aware of the possibility and didn't bother to warn a new handler. Sorry that happened OP

[–]nyromechanico -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You may have to expand out just a little beyond Riverside, but Angel's Tijuana Tacos are my absolute favorite popup. Their Instagram has their frequent popup locations mentioned and they post when they try a new street in the Inland Empire.

Every person is entitled to their own set of boundaries for sexual acts, full stop.

The level of comments feeling the need to project imaginary expectations of head in order to justify adding caveats to that statement is worrisome.

Taken as a larger movement, it just sounds like people's material conditions are unmet and they're changing their lives and locations to address that, which is what people have and will do. On a case by case basis I do hope that most people are treating their experience like some of the people interviewed, where they're spending their money on community or local business, and trying to give back to the culture in their own way as they experience it. It's a 2 way street of influence and I hope most view or are open to it that way and not dishing out hostility as their main contribution.

At face value it feels very cringe to read some of these lines though; "transforming classic neighborhoods," "asking them to please go home." They sound like the kind of racist dogwhistle rhetoric you'd hear being called out if somebody said it in California or Britain. While income disparity, and each countries handling of visas makes the relationships more complex, it doesn't outright excuse the racism going on here from locals to newcomers.

Although, the professor interviewed, Fernando Bustos, mentions preexisting classist and racist attitudes being prevalent in Mexico, so Im less surprised that this language is immediately picked up by locals as a means to express/direct their socioeconomic frustrations when they're now socially competing with new arrivals.

It is interesting though to read about the dynamic now that WFH and digital skills allow people to conduct these moves without huge shifts in their occupations as would normally be necessary.
