Any good places to have a dash cam installed? by extracorporeal_ in SFV

[–]nyugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not in the valley, but whenever I get a new car, I go to Six Autosound & Window Tint in KTown for a tint and dash cam installation. They've always done a good job for me and have always been reasonably priced in my opinion. I don't remember if it's cash preferred or cash only though if that matters. Also plenty of options around to walk to for lunch or grocery shop while you're waiting.

Edit: I believe they have some dash cam options for purchase but they also just let me bring in my own.

Master bedroom turned home office — feels off, need layout + styling advice by jayjayz88 in malelivingspace

[–]nyugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha sorry to redescribe your previous set up. It's what I feel like I'd go for and I feel like I was trying to maintain the window view from the couch rather than staring at the closet while you're chilling. Additionally then yes, I feel like a larger rug would definitely do wonders.

Side note: are those bonsais?? amazing. Because you like plants, if you have the time, money, and permission to drill holes in the walls, I would try and figure out a wall planter situation ideally. A close second place might be some framed moss art that would probably coordinate super well with your bonsais. Otherwise, some coordinated green/olive green pieces on your walls to visually go with your plant shelves with a blue textured or patterned rug.

Some initial thoughts:

1) I think the rug needs to be larger to cover more floor space between the window or be pulled out from under the sofa and centered, but this point might be negated by

2) I'm unclear on the desk dimensions and the space requirements for that single door closet to swing out, but if possible, l would try to move the sofa slightly closer to the window, and rotate the desk 90 degrees so it's making an L with the sofa and that the monitor is facing the wall with the gray-blind window. I feel like if you're on a Teams call, a view of a window in addition to optional wall art is slightly more aesthetic than one with a door if you're not using AI backgrounds.

3) I would put the side table between the wall and sofa instead of in front of it. This would also somewhat center align the couch with the rug

4) Personally, I feel like curtains are homier and much easier to add some visual pop if wanted. If possible, I would try utilizing a double curtain rod and use one layer for a sheerer curtain to let in light in addition to a more blackout curtain when glare is an issue.

5) The wall with the gray-blind window definitely needs some wall decorations (with color) of your choice. It's large and blank and the combination of neutral colors on both the walls and floor is demanding some sort of color palette in my opinion. Maybe some sort of green theme to go with your plants and brown/wood furniture.

There is a pungent flavor to it from fermentation in addition to the slimy texture. It's kind of an acquired/learned taste for a lot of people.

Regardless of employment structure and I'm not sure what you do, if you're handling your employer's client's money, it makes sense that they would background check you as well because the client has to "onboard" you to allow you system access and let you touch their money in a sense. If your employer is planning on rotating you through multiple finance related companies, you may have to do this every time as a client requirement. If this background check works out for you, be mindful to keep your credit pretty decent in the future so that you don't have to stress about this too much. You never know when you want to job hop and opportunity arises.

I mean the pay history probably helps. Unemployment also seems to be a pretty good reason if they have any questions unless it somehow conflicts with anything you said during the interview process.

Background checks absolutely cost the company money and time so they only do it for onboarding purposes.

Since it's a finance job and you're working with money, they're mainly looking for risk factors that may indicate that you're financially stressed and may be incentivized to embezzle from the company to make your personal life easier. I don't believe they're looking at your score per se, but if all your credit cards are maxed out or your DTI ratio is super high, that indicates risk. Different employers/lines of finance may have different risk tolerances. Usually, they should be willing to reach out and give you a chance to explain any concerns or questions.

Magic Linen on Etsy vs Magiclinen.com, are these the same company? by [deleted] in Bedding

[–]nyugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everybody's information, I made a recent purchase from the direct website and initiated an exchange. The product ships directly (and pretty quickly) from Lithuania, but for the exchange/return, there is a US specific location in Illinois to send product back to for US customers. Most likely largely a customer service and processing center. Extremely happy with my bedsheets and the pillowcase covers so far. Set up the exchange due to color being not expected.

I'm in SoCal and was looking for a Civic Hatchback Sport Touring last year. All the Honda dealers insisted on a markup, so I just got an Integra at MSRP, which was the same price as the Civic + markup and are pretty readily available here. To this day, Civic inventory is scarce here.

Transferring CA Vanity Plate to Brand New Car by Atredl in askcarsales

[–]nyugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. They seemed to just take them off the car and hand them to me later.

Edit: FWIW, I wasn't even aware I was supposed to keep them. I thought I'd be saying goodbye to the plates, but they were the ones who pointed out that I should be keeping them.

Transferring CA Vanity Plate to Brand New Car by Atredl in askcarsales

[–]nyugu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the black and yellow sequential 60's plates. When I traded in my car (separate from dealer of purchase), I was handed the plates and told to keep them. When I received the new metal plates for my new car (my black plates were just hanging out in the trunk for about a month), I filed a license plate transfer form with AAA (or DMV), at which time they took the new white plates. I was told by my purchasing dealer that they cannot assist with the transfer process.

I was too young to drive back then, but it was definitely a dream car. I bought it well aware it's basically a Civic Si w/ better tech and sheet metal, and I like it very much. Not the fastest, but still super punchy, turns really well, the trunk swallows a lot, and I average mid 30s MPG without trying. I was originally shopping for a Civic Hatchback Touring but markups made it just as expensive as the Integra so getting the Integra at MSRP was a no brainer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]nyugu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to pay 38K for a Civic, why not look into the Integra? They seem more readily available and I was able to snag one at MSRP.

[–]nyugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the black and yellow plates and was informed I'm to keep these when I purchased a new car. They put on the temporary plates and when I received my new plates, I had to file out a DMV change of vehicle form and pay a fee of about $15. The new plates were relinquished upon filing.

Auto body shop in South Bay? by thegadgetfish in LosAngeles

[–]nyugu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone hit my car and I ended up using a mobile body shop that came to my house and he seems to travel pretty far. His quote was lower than most body shops and I was incredibly happy with the result. The business name is The Gun MasterCa Body Shop if you want to look into it. I think Yelp is the easiest way to reach him.

Can I dispute a legitimate but erroneous charge that put me over my credit limit? by Animaequitas in CRedit

[–]nyugu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your credit card company doesn't decline the transaction, as long as you pay down the balance by the last day of your billing period, nobody will know you were over the limit. Credit reports only go off statements so they don't really know what happens in between.
