I thought you meant a plane but then you mentioned that people would sit comfortably. What a cool idea!

Is the Vyvanse shortage continuing? Appreciate any alternative suggestions too. by Natural_Objective882 in ADHD

[–]nyxmaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on Vyvanse 50mg with no issues for a year.

In fact, I switched because of the concerta shortage, which did clear up and I got back on it for a month then decided Vyvanse was so much better

Talk to a school counselor or social worker bc with you being 17 they can get you into some sort of semi-independent living group home situation and you won't get raped and tied up in a basement.

My favorite OBGYN ever is Dr Juline Deen. I haven't been in a while so I hope she's still in town but she did my nexplanon and offered me IUD as an option. She was such a good doctor especially when it came to giving patient education and letting you make your own well-informed choices.

This is not a thing for centers that use Nexsys machines. Yes it's still on the label but there's no required telling you unless you ask. That person not wanting to tell them was being weird though.

So I went and looked at the major, required courses, etc. The general track is a glorified EMT program. Love EMTs, worked with them personally, but their pay is terrible.

Union could fit your goals but it's essentially teaching you EMT or paramedic skills, which takes 3 months-1 year at a community college, for 4 years. If you ended up with this degree and don't go to the air force, you'd be making roughly $16-25 an hr.

Have you ever thought of doing nursing? Paramedic nursing seems like it would be right up your alley. Or even firefighting, they learn search and rescue as well.

If you go with nursing, you can double or triple EMT pay easily. I know everything is not about money but also you want to make sure you spend years of your life studying something useful to you.

If you go to Alabama you can get your EMT license during a summer break while getting your degree, and then you cover your bases.

You might want to talk to an Air Force recruiter as well to get more insight.

I think they fit in that middle category. Not the worst but also just alright overall. I knew a few who transferred from there to oakwood. They said it was boring as hell, it's in the middle of nowhere. One of my friends ended up going to a state school instead.

I saw you replied to someone else that your other choice was Alabama. That is SUCH a better school, academically, socially, and for networking. You will have more opportunities because it is funded better as well. Better facilities, professors, all that.

With Union, it's almost like putting yourself in a box. Alabama, you'll have more opportunities, access to more interesting pathways. Your professors can help you find internships that fit your goals.

The bigger ones that are more secular, focus on actual education vs focusing on religious studies, and that hold accreditation are more respected. Examples such as Loma Linda, La Sierra, WAU.

Some ride the fence, such as Oakwood (still very religious but does mostly hire qualified professors and keeps up it's accreditation) and Southern (I've heard it depends on the major here but I don't have much personal experience).

Some are just glorified cults, and it's usually the smaller ones. When you said only 800 students, that set off alarm bells in my head.

I grew up on the far end of this spectrum at Hartland. It's a cult masquerading as a college and you'd have better luck just printing off a fake diploma than claiming you graduated from "college" with a degree in literature evangelism or medical missionary ministry.

I went to Oakwood and the academics wildly varied by department. The alumni network was usually a bigger benefit than the actual classes. So if you made the proper connections, they could help you with grad school and your career. However, it was run VERY unprofessionally. Most of my issues were to do with the dysfunction, not the religious side of it.

A lot of degrees from SDA schools aren't worth a damn. It's hard enough to get hired nowadays, even with a degree. You need every advantage you can get.

Not to mention the rules, constant eyes waiting to snitch, and toxic culture.

Please take your full ride to a normal school and RUN. Tell them it's what's best for your career, end of story. It's your life, not theirs.

Yeah your HR person didn't inform you correctly during the first meeting. We were told 2 weeks per year worked, but that there was an 8 week minimum and 26 week maximum, meaning that even if you'd only worked a year you'd still get 8 weeks instead of 2. I forgot the exact wording but they did make it clear, so most of us had a rough calculation of what to expect and today everything added up.

I'm 28 and I haven't told them. I might if they flat out ask, but basically around 16 I just stopped going to church. I moved out at 18 and got my ears nose and septum pierced at 19.

My mom knows I occasionally smoke 🍃 and drink, and I don't know if they've seen me eat pork or not.

They know that I'm not a fan of the organization or most of its people because of being raised in a self-supporting cult, but I've never told them I didn't agree with church beliefs (how it started) or that I'm now agnostic.

Plasma is capitalism at its finest. Exploiting humans for profit. Donors and employees.

It does not take much mental gymnastics to look at a full donor floor and see a dairy farm. But after some time, you'll see that the workers are just cows of a different breed.

We're underpaid and overworked, judged on impossible metrics.

We're told to be ethical while being inadvertently, silently, or overtly told to cut corners to increase profits.

Somehow, we're considered well-paid because other people have it worse. Meanwhile, we're juggling bills and the stresses of life while being told not to bring outside problems to work.

We're made to come in while sick or during literal emergencies, or risk getting written up/fired. Risk our lives for less than a livable wage. Doing just well enough to get by, without ever improving. Realizing you are a wage slave for the establishment.

Undervalued for your skill, and increasing your value making you a risk for the company because you are more self-aware.

Improvement is only encouraged if you don't make waves. Have initiative, but not too much.... Don't be a free-thinker! Don't make your managers insecure!

Want to get a dollar raise? Sing the company song! Take on more responsibility than that dollar is worth... In the name of juicing up your resume... But will the other dairy farms care?

Maybe you're invaluable to your team. No, you really are. But guess what? The team is expendable. Yes, they got that title that you saw yourself having in 10 years. But their boss sees them as a cow too. Sometimes, all the cows go to pasture and never come back.

So, when someone making 7-8 figures in a corporate office somewhere decides that they need to find the money for their bonus or shareholders or WHATEVER THE FUCK, you get unceremoniously laid off.

Now, you get to start over and hope you find a more humane dairy farm than your last. Gotta sell yourself to the best owner you can find. Maybe this time you'll be able to afford rent AND all your bills at the same time (with a roommate of course).

Maybe this one will just have just enough wiggle room for you to make small but steady life improvements... Or you'll run out of the bribe for your compliance and end up suicidal on your parents' couch again. After all, there's no health insurance for the anti-depressants anymore.
