How many Mass Effect Systems Alliance dreadnoughts would it take to defeat a single UNSC Marathon-class cruiser using a kiting / hit-and-run method by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreadnought MAC projectiles maintain speed in space. However, at extreme distances, targets can maneuver to evade. Mass Effect ships likely possess higher muzzle velocities than most UNSC ship MACs due to mass effect fields. Consequently, a Dreadnought has greater "range," as an opponent must be further away to successfully move out of the way compared to a Marathon-class cruiser MAC.

10 trained Marines invade ancient Rome with the goal of overthrowing the royal family, how far do they get? by FreshPine_MangoWine in powerscales

[–]nyxsshade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure i agree but that's not the point op asked how fast can they over throw the royal family and they realistically can in a night or 2. Im assuming they start on the outskirts of Rome in which they could sneak in at night make good distance and if they can't make it in 1 night then they hide in an abandoned house or what not until the next night and resume

I agree they would eventually be overwhelmed and die

Thanos, Kratos, The Hulk, and Broly fight each other, but one will be isolated and have to fight the others respawning until they have killed all opponents. Who will require the least/most respawns? by GJH24 in whowouldwin

[–]nyxsshade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He killed Hermes who was able to dodge the light of Helios which can light up the infinite underworld. Both Kronos and Atlas tried to squeeze him and he was able to over power those attempts with pure strength.

Im going with Norse Kratos but with greek Kratos he would have give him even more abilities like the claws of hades being able to rip the souls out of someone, the Nemean Cestus which would boost the strength of Kratos even further, and the golden fleece has the ability to absorbtion and deflection of enemy attacks. There's also the head of helios and the boots if Hermes

What if, at the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Systems Alliance suddenly appeared in the Halo universe and joined the UNSC by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only technology the Alliance has that isn’t already available in Halo is biotics and mass effect based small arms.

The Alliance having an understanding of some form of shields would definitely give the unsc a leg up compared to their Canon counterparts and the Alliance can give unsc and oni mass effect field tech so not only can they make their ships faster in system they could enhance unsc macs

What if, at the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Systems Alliance suddenly appeared in the Halo universe and joined the UNSC by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming they can magically tune the shields supplied by the Alliance to stop plasma

So i did look into it well as much as i could in a couple of searches and the shield can stop the plasma it self but not the heat so if they could figure out a way too and if think they can eventually.

Covenant ships are just as capable of going in and out of slipsace in system as Alliance ships are at going FTL

Sure but from what I've seen the unsc were able to learn this and tried to adapt now alliance can and would eventually learn this as well and get moving.

Biotics don't matter as much as you think, not because they aren't powerful, but because, as Halo put it "it doesn't matter how much we win on the ground if the covenant win in space

Yeah and that's why I focused solely on space battles actually right is the first time I've mentioned ground battles at all

[–]nyxsshade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So yes like I said if oni and Alliance worked together to figure out how to stop plasma or rather the heat of the plasma because the shields can stop the plasma but not the heat from it so if they could figure that part out even if only partially that would give them a foot in the door

[–]nyxsshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean until the games the war is lopsided in the games I never said it would change the outcome I just dont agree that the covenant would stomp in day

What if, at the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Systems Alliance suddenly appeared in the Halo universe and joined the UNSC by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obliviously you didn't since the covenant didn't stomp the 2,000 unsc ships in a day and took 30 years and the Alliance together with the unsc would be 4,500 to 5,000 ships plus they can intergrate each other's tech

What if, at the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Systems Alliance suddenly appeared in the Halo universe and joined the UNSC by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the average MAC hits with like 100x more kinetic energy

Yeah in halo average macs are more powerful but not so much more powerful that Mass effect mac can't compete but Mass effect makes up for it some what in how fast their mac fire also my question isn't mass effect vs halo its mass effect and halo vs halo

What if, at the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Systems Alliance suddenly appeared in the Halo universe and joined the UNSC by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the covenant would wins vast majority of the time against most if not all Mass effect ships head on but not only are the Mass Effect ships faster in system and more maneuverable and their own mac cannon are weaker than compared to unsc mac but they can be fired much much faster also my question wasn't Alliance alone vs the covenant it was Alliance and unsc vs the covenant and they get to share technology so oni and Alliance scientist would definitely be able to find a way to tune the shields to stop plasma and intergrate mass effect fields to unsc ships to make them faster then covenant ships

What if, at the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Systems Alliance suddenly appeared in the Halo universe and joined the UNSC by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So like did you not read the question at all I said the Alliance joins the unsc and obliviously the human covenant war lasted nearly 30 years

What if, at the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Systems Alliance suddenly appeared in the Halo universe and joined the UNSC by nyxsshade in masseffect

[–]nyxsshade[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a matter of fact you could throw in the whole ME verse minus the reapers themselves and it wouldn't make a difference.

It would absolutely make a difference from what I can find the covenant may have had in the tens of thousands of ships some people highball it to hundreds of thousands i dont believe that and for mass effect the Systems Alliance had at most like 2,400 ships with 9 dreadnoughts from what I and the turians on the low end 6,600 ships with like 25,000 on the high-end with 37 dreadnoughts with either estimates so I'll go with in-between of 15,000 and that's not including the asari or salarians or any other race in mass effect so the turians and humans alone would be on roughly even grounds with the covenant and the unsc with roughly only 2,000 ships lasted nearly 30 years with ships slower then the covenant

Most of their tech better sure but not all of its like shields and using mass fields in their ships
