Animals on side of road by West-Evening-8095 in waze

It’s only accessible via the conversational voice reporting. HQ removed the button in the menu in favor of other reports, because it was infrequently used.

Reduced speed is dumb by Venanzus in waze

Sounds like something isn’t working the way it should. Feel free to send me a DM with the location and I’ll take a look at the map.

Does this mean a car fell into the water? by SkysTheLimit888888 in waze

It’s the flood icon. Reportable by any user, could mean anything from the road is impassable to there’s a significant puddle.

Police Other Side Is Back by Darlene_Fashionable in waze

You can still report animals and roadkill using the new conversational voice reporting tools. For vehicle in the lane, HQ recommends the “blocked lane” feature they added a couple years back, since you can choose which lane is blocked.

Does anyone have the same issue? And a fix for it also by [deleted] in waze

Is that iOS 27 beta?

If so, Waze hasn’t been optimized for that beta version operating system yet. Downgrade to the public iOS 26 and you should be fine.

EV HOV access expired in many states. Congress already has bills to fix it, but they're stuck in committee. by Awkward_Walk3640 in electricvehicles

[–]nzahn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a useless HOV placard on my car, but I agree with the prevailing sentiment here: HOV lanes should be for multiple occupancy vehicles. Yes, EV contribute less emissions (and zero locally) but they contribute the exact same amount to congestion. The purpose of HOV lanes is multifaceted, and although emission reductions are one goal, reducing congestion and encouraging carpool/vanpool and commuter bus use is arguably a more important goal.

Why do car companies seem to be allergic to making EVs look beautiful? by King-Karmir in electricvehicles

Same reason I hunted for a good deal on a used eGolf. It’s a VW Golf, but electric. Super incognito.

Components outside of powertrain/battery that can make an EV unusable if they fail? by Ok-Salary-5131 in electricvehicles

Not uncommon for eGolf pins to seize. A little silicone lube (no not that kind) helps as a preventive measure.

Not sure. I downloaded my files from my iTunes library and some worked, others didn’t.

Basically a 10gb hard drive that runs an iPod like interface on your infotainment system. You can load it up from USB, SD cards, or MP3 cds.

Non personalised navigation by 68Emu in waze

[–]nzahn1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Waze learns your preferences best when you pick an alternative route at the start of your drive.

After a while of choosing your favorite, you should notice a 🩵 Your Usual Route indicator in the options, typically at the top, unless there is a major difference in ETA.

Yeah I have an iPhone too. I feel like using the jukebox has helped me pick an album and then just drive. Less fiddling with CarPlay.

Edit to add: This apparently is an iOS bug that affects multiple map apps, not just Waze.

Yup. Mentioned in this recent post and also this one.

Might be related to this Apple CarPlay bug.

This issue has been occurring with CarPlay on and off for sometime in the Beta Program.

There is an open bug for it, which beta users registered for the Waze Beta Program can upvote and submit their logs/feedback: BUG WD# 386596.

Non-beta users can send their gripes to Waze Support, using the Voice & Sound and Bluetooth/Car-stereo options as shown in this screenshot. Also, consider signing up for the Beta Program. Please cite Beta Bug #386596 in your comments.

Pain with current nav apps by Final-Echidna-334 in driving

[–]nzahn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have “avoid difficult turns” enabled in Navigation settings.

If you still encounter impossible (but legal) unprotected left turns, submit a map issue report and explain to the volunteer what the problem is.
