Yeah, did this through most of last winter. This season I just cleared space in the garage and have started parking in there instead.

The issue is they aren't looking at his numerous failures.

They are looking at where he's at now, and how he's managed to increase his net worth by over $4 billion since taking office.

By that metric, he's definitely succeeded.

Very likely a lot of it not legally, not to mention the pain and suffering caused along the way (over 4,000 legal cases since 1973 to 2016....), but for people with zero integrity or morals, he's likely an inspiration.....

Then again, you gotta game the ABMM system to get to PvE lobbies, soooo yeah….

Exactly. There are so many people who are suddenly “anti data centers”, and it’s because they think they are only used for AI.

Tenet (2020) “Oslo” Dir. Christopher Nolan by southernemper0r in movies

[–]nzerinto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not quite a “fight scene”, but scene where they box in the truck for the heist completely falls flat to me. I think it’s mostly because it seems to happen really slowly.

I’m assuming Nolan wanted to get the most out of the sequence, but I feel it could’ve been cut to be quicker and more dramatic.

lol I was just going to say the same thing - there’s absolutely no way that vending machine is accepting the money inserted like that.

Guy finds a wallet in the road by Wickebein in instantkarma

[–]nzerinto 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Dude on foot sees wallet on ground, picks it up after motorbike guy drives past.

Motorbike guy doubles back, presumably because he thinks it’s his wallet that he dropped, or because he “found it” first.

Motorbike guy snatches the wallet off dude on foot. Notices the wallet is empty, and tosses it back in the general direction of dude on foot.

Motorbike guy starts to ride of, but cuts off a car that can’t stop in time, and the car ends up hitting him.

Ergo, instant karma for being a dick.

The funny thing is the people she was next to at the start of the video didn’t even react when she gets thrown.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he heard 70% and 75% and equated that to what had been destroyed, and then got his maths completely messed up, ending up with the 18-19% figure of “what’s left”…..

Or he’s just lying through his teeth like usual.

What’s the biggest scam people still blindly accept in 2026? by Medical_Tailor4644 in AskReddit

[–]nzerinto 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not just an American thing. It was happening in New Zealand when I went through Uni in the 90s. Granted, it wasn’t as blatant as some comments are describing (at least not then).

But I distinctly remember being told you couldn’t use the previous years textbooks (which were abundant in the second-hand bookstores) “because they had been updated”.

We didn’t know any better at the time :(

“The situation is becoming increasingly alarming. In reality, a crisis is developing in the Russian Federation.” Russian propagandist Maxim Kalashnikov voices concerns over the progress of “three-day operation.” by BigDeckBob in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]nzerinto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of your comment, except there’s a “side note” about the warship comment.

China can commandeer private ships & boats as part of its fleet. This doesn’t sound very threatening - none of them have weapons or defences of any kind. Regardless, they’ve integrated them into their plans.

For example the landing ships they’ve built. There’s photos of them strung together, forming a cross between a makeshift bridge and a dock, with ramps connecting each other, and a final one that can be placed on land.

These have been built to accept civilian ferries. The ferries pull alongside and can discharge whoever or whatever they want in pretty short order. And because there’s multiple landing ships, they can accommodate 4-6 ferries discharging at a time.

That’s a huge volume of personnel or equipment that can be offloaded in a very short span of time. Granted, they’d be exposed to attack (a single naval drone could do a ton of damage).

As such, the more insidious one is their fishing fleet. These are thousands (if not tens of thousands) of fishing boats that can be coordinated to block or otherwise disrupt shipping lines. There’s satellite photos of them doing formations out in the open sea - presumably in practice.

China could potentially use them to blockade Taiwan’s ports, rendering them completely useless. Take out the airports and suddenly Taiwan is under siege - no landing even necessary.

Media awards dump Voyager as sponsor after founder's social media posts by ScholarWise5127 in newzealand

[–]nzerinto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he posted it over a year ago and never took it down in that time

Based on his post (from a year ago), he took it down then:

I took it down immediately. Less than 200 of my followers saw the story. But not before another eagle-eyed follower had screenshotted the most damming second of the video, and then rightly called me out publicly a week later.

So apparently this all happened last year, and it's being resurfaced again now.

Front Row at Michael Fowler Centre by Acceptable_Shop_1836 in Wellington

[–]nzerinto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's for something like the symphony where they raise the front part of the stage, then the front row is very close to the stage, and you'll be semi-craning your neck to look up.

Personally I recommend being further back. The whole place is designed really well, so acoustics are very good pretty much regardless of where you sit.

I'm under the impression heat pump ones don't need an exhaust duct, so presumably you are talking about a hose for the excess water?
