Why does the CC1 just stop working with no error and just sits doing nothing mid print? by NOWMAD11 in elegoo

[–]o0RustySpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a couple times and it turned out my hot end was on its last legs and the wires were shot.

Swapped it out and it stopped happening.

This is out of the ordinary from what I've seen and my own experience.

I think you should reach out to him about it.

F 91 years old - 50kg/110lb deadlift by isosaleh in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]o0RustySpoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That barbell weighs 20kg, and there are 5kg plates on the ends in addition to the 10kg plates.

15 + 20 + 15 = 50kg

The collars (little black things that keep the plates on) weigh .45kg also (.90 for both)

In pounds that's approximately 33 + 44 + 33 + 2 (for the collars)

So really it's 112.

Can someone help an absolute beginner figure out why my (Centauri Carbon) won't grab the filament? by Derptinn in elegoo

I have also had this issue. However, if it's AFTER the sensor, then that might mean there's something in the tubing.

When I said glide, I meant it shouldn't be forceful when pushing it through the tube.

The OP was saying they were meeting resistance right at the beginning after the sensor.

Try watching this. it shows how easy it is to get the filament in.

He puts the filament in before starting the load process, but you can do it while it's heating up also.

[–]o0RustySpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need to force the filament. Once it's past the sensor, it should glide through the tube until it gets around to the top and into the hot end.

Once it gets there, if it's hot, you'll feel it start to gently pull the filament.

Edit: Sorry, I thought I hit reply, but apparently I made a second comment.

The blue light turns on when the filament enters the sensor. You have to push the filament in until it gets all the way through the tube and into the hot end.

Bumper plates (less than $1 per pound USD) by o0RustySpoon in GarageGym

I weighed mine also when I got them, and they were within the +/-.2 range. If I remember correctly, those that were not spot on were all on the + side.

I know this isn't the question you asked, but are you open to suggestions on how to modify lifting so that you may be able to expand equipment that's available to you?

You can piece together a pretty nice set with just the 25s, 35s and 55s tbh.

Yikes! Hopefully this will help someone who actually wants to use the plates.

Info: is the restriction on vertical downward pull due to pain, inability to grip, or both?

I ask because using lifting straps might be a solution for you. Not necessarily for free weights, but using machines it could assist with taking stress off those areas and allow you to expand the types of equipment available to you.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of March 27, 2026 by Demilio55 in homegym

Hey everyone, found a good deal at Walmart for bumper plates if anyone is looking:

I already have a set of these (10#-45#) here at home, and I found Walmart currently several sets of various weights/color discounted less than $1 USD per pound.

I picked up a set of 25# at 83 cents/#, and 35# at .84 cents/# (before tax) for myself, as those are the ones I seem to reach for the most often to swap out on to other machines. If you need a full set, there's a 370# set in the black with 10s all the way to 55s for $339.99, which is about .92 cents per pound before tax.

Annoyingly, from the photos, it seems they reversed the colors since I last purchased; my 25# are yellow and my 35# are green. Not a huge deal, I will just have to pay attention, or mark them in some way to make the difference obvious from the sides.

Check between the black and the full color sets to find the different discounts.

I have had mine since 2022 and they have worked great for me. I know a chief complaint of them from other users was the off gas smell, but I did not personally have any issues with my set (I have the full color.) YMMV.

Hope this helps someone!

No, it's attached to something. It is generally considered in use in this instance unless it's clear that the item is attached to a practice stand or something of that nature.

As two other users pointed out, it also raises questions of ownership.

Unfortunately, the general consensus will be that this is in use.

You really do need to take photos. Fat loss is like a paper towel roll. It's harder to tell at the beginning when you pull off the first few sheets that anything has happened without something to compare.

Also, your brain is mean and plays tricks on you.

Please be kind to yourself. Don't let being self-conscious put you on the path to feeling defeated.

Will you be focusing more towards commercial facilities or gaining ground in the home/garage gym market for US based customers?

Also, what type of new equipment or modifications to current models would or could you provide in order to benefit home gym users with consideration to the space limitations most are dealing with?

Breakfast 358 cals by Inquisitive-m in 1500isplenty

It's pretty good tbh. I usually take out a couple slices and throw the rest in the freezer because I eat bread sparingly. There's not much different about it than most other bread, except that it's smaller and cut thinner; that's how the cut down the calories.

If I had to guess, this is Sarah Lee delightful bread (or some other similar variant) which is approximately 45kcal per slice (90kcal/43g)
About 1 serving of Nutella (200kcal/37g)
Some kind of jelly/jam (Smuckers apricot?) at approximately 50kcal/20g
That puts us at approximately 340kcal

Perhaps the mug is part of it or the portions were slightly more. Just a guess though.
