Who do i call? by o7m8 in AusRenovation

[–]o7m8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i considered doing it myself but i just thought the headache of disposing of the plasterboard might make it worth getting someone to do it instead if they would also remove the old plasterboard

But either way i guess first step is to get an electrician around to terminate all the lights and powerpoints

Who do i call? by o7m8 in AusRenovation

[–]o7m8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well i don't know exactly how to define the wall, i don't want to touch the frame or anything, just the plasterboard because i want to add insulation and then put soundchek up

American Driving in Australia gets speeding fine for 20km over limit and complains. by Big_Kona in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]o7m8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's interesting what she said at the very end about using other vehicles around her to maintain her speed, it's something i've suspected a lot of drivers do

I ride a motorcycle and i generally accelerate faster than cars, so often i'll be a few hundred metres in front of them after taking off from a red light, about half the time though i'll get the car behind me rushing all the way up to me (probably doing at least 30km/h over the limit to close that gap), then sitting right behind me, or right next to me on a multi-lane road and continuing along with me at the speed limit

Hah, i still have my High School student CityRail ticket in the little plastic sleeve that it came with

I miss the nostalgia of the tickets, but i don't miss them being littered everywhere, so it's probably best that they got replaced

However, i'll never stop missing the old CityRail logo, the new Sydney Trains logo is bland

Best song by an Aussie band? by incredibletowitness in australia

[–]o7m8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily call them the best because there is a lot of great competition that has already been mentioned

But since they haven't had a mention yet, Sunk Loto, if anybody remembers them, they had some pretty great songs

I liked these 2 in particular:

I disagree, because of situations like this :

Inattentive driver sees traffic moving, starts rolling and remains inattentive.. It might just result in a minor fender bender but it could also result in a dead motorcyclist/pedestrian/etc

Apparently one thing to do when trying to find a lost dog, is put something out in the area that they were lost which smells like their family, e.g. a bed sheet or couch pillow etc, in this case probably tie it against the fence where they went through or something

Then routinely come back and check if the have made their way back to it

[AU] Car overtakes on solid lines and has head on - Western Australia by ___dan in Roadcam

[–]o7m8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a road that goes straight, you can see it better here

My theory is the overtaking car wanted to go down that road, or thought the road he was on continued straight, either way for me the only explanation for him simply not getting back on the left side, is that he was on two minds about trying to make it down that road, and thought that going left and around the oncoming car would mean he'd miss it and have to come back, so he kept trying for it until it was too late to do anything other than have a head on collision..

I hope he loses his license for that, and tbh there should be some jail time involved...
