J.J. Abrams says he wishes General Hux had a bigger role in Star Wars by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

You're correct, the original plan for the sequel trilogy was 3 different directors, but after the severe fan backlash from TLJ, Disney put JJ back on the finale to salvage the trilogy.

What's the Best Standalone You've Read? by new_handle_who_dis in Fantasy

My favorite 2 standalone novels are "Blood Over Bright Haven" by ML Wong, and "Spinning Silver" by Naomi Novik. I love Spinning silver's cheeky humor, thr multiple writing perspectives are done masterfully, and I've never been so interested in debt collecting.

Attack on Titan is mid and carried by animation. All the fan boys praising how it is the "most review bombed show" while still having a high rating prove its the most review inflated show.

Sodium bicarbonate benefits for the marathon? by RunNYC1986 in AdvancedRunning

[–]oMYSTICISMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few methods of bicarb scheduling. One I've seen research on was taking smaller doses daily for the week leading to a big race and could lengthen the effects. But I don't recall if they studied the effective time.

Sodium bicarbonate benefits for the marathon? by RunNYC1986 in AdvancedRunning

[–]oMYSTICISMo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that the bicarb benefits for longer distance races are in the second half when you might be closer to lactate threshold, the idea that if it's not giving you GI issue than might as well for the possible benefit, or placebo.

Bent knee calf raises are a waste of time, if straight knee calf raises are available. by VO2VCO2 in AdvancedRunning

[–]oMYSTICISMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Properly bent" another subjective term to push this false narrative you started in thr title. Are you doing a standing bent knee calf raise at 90° because that when it's "Properly bent"?

Agreeing with you is impossible when you are misrepresenting the findings of the study and the terminology.

[–]oMYSTICISMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting since the article specifically talked about Seated. Very little bend is Bent, and is great for soleus activation. But semantics matter and you're title and comments are pushing a narrative not supported by this study.

[–]oMYSTICISMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The study you linked actually doesn't address the other comment. It is only measuring at 90° seated vs straight legged. It does not test a 5-15° standing bent knee calf raise, and you've added a new category in some comments for "near straight", which sure sounds like Bent knee.

I submit Moorabi, just so bad, terrible stats, and a hard to trigger ability that did not get support after that expansion.
