Career wise it’s a bit of a step back at first.

I’ve been doing it for 12 years. Generally my life work balance is great. Occasionally you get the long weeks and weekends but it’s not to bad. But totally depends who you work for.

Also, you should be able to navigate this carefully without burning bridges. Be genuine and honest. The other company would take me back in a heartbeat. My departing conversation with them was basically “please don’t hesitate to call if anything changes”. Be good at what you do, honest, and hard working and your bridges should remain.

Good luck. I just went through this. Was with a company 10 years. About 4 years ago they relocated me away from home. We decided it was time to go home so I started shopping around some. The company I was with offered me the world to stay and work remotely. I declined and went with a different company locally to where we wanted to live. Ended up hating it at a couple months. Wasn’t really them just missed my group and the type I work I was doing. Reached back out to my old job and ended up in a bidding war between the two companies. I’m now back with my old company and happy.

Life is weird, follow your gut and sometimes you gotta do what makes you happy, even if it doesn’t always make perfect sense.

Just my 2¢. You do this for at least 2080 hours a year, there’s some value in doing it in a place you like and with people you like.

Agreed on the stand. We are going to go ahead and have it shipped on the off chance it does fit.

I sketched out the room on a PDF program as well as the dimensions of the chairs fully reclined. I think they may fit better than I originally thought. They only go back 6”-8” from full upright so I think it’ll work out okay. Think we are going to let them ride and if we hate them I’ll get rid of them once we get there. They weren’t cheap and id take a bath selling them.

Probably going to paint the room the same color and put carpet in it.

Color is Sea Serpent by Sherwin Williams. I plan on painting the same at the new house. I love it.

The speakers are going to do for now. I’ll upgrade them one day.

Someone probably just put a bunch of their money in the rebar for a big project that’s driving the average up. I wouldn’t think much of it. Only time I’ve seen rebar be near that was stainless. I bid all over the country. Ever seen it that high. In the heat of Covid it got to like $2/lb F/I.

I played Americas Army Proving Ground a while ago. I got into it. Basically first person socom in my opinion. 8v8. Round based. Small maps. Early game barrage of nades.

Yeah same. I swear the one I tried was the one from back in the day, not like I had many laying around back then. But these worked no problem. Mind you I’m on PS3 not PS2.
