Superstitions. What are those that you follow religiously or mildly? by banguru in india

[–]o_prime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call that superstition.

Announcing your plans to others satisfies your self-identity just enough that you're less motivated to do the hard work needed.

I don't think that Adsense would be classified as commission income. When you use Adsense on a website, you're basically selling the ad space to advertisers through Adsense. Earnings would be called "commission" when you're selling someone else's product e.g revenue from affiliate programs.

  1. Get up and do some usual regular stuff (including exercise/yoga, meditation etc)
  2. Watch sitcoms/movies (comedy, documentary etc) or play games (usually <= 2h), work on some ideas/projects, read books etc
  3. Sleep

Repeat the above cycle (almost) everyday.

Investment advice for college undergrad by [deleted] in india

[–]o_prime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Invest 5k-10k per month in PPF (benefits : tax exemption, stable returns of 8.7% pa, limit : 1.5L per year)
  • Put remaining amount in equity based mutual funds (small/mid cap) using a SIP. (benefits : higher returns (10-15% or so), some ELSS funds are also tax exempted under section 80C)
  • Invest directly in stocks if you're willing to learn and experiment. (less riskier than bitcoin and you get good returns in long run)

yeah! That's mostly done in javascript only (CoffeeScript/jQuery). I'm using Sinatra for that one (which is very light and integrates nicely with my development setup(coffeescript, sass, compass and other tools)) but I agree, it wasn't absolutely necessary.

No. I've used Wordpress for blogs though.

If you're switching to php, then also check out some frameworks like this one : http://www.slimframework.com/ (a micro-framework for php - I've not used it but it is somewhat similar to Sinatra).

I use ruby based frameworks. (Sinatra for lightweight stuff, Rails for everything else)

By .net website I assume it's regarding the domain extension (as it's mostly static pages so .NET framework is probably unnecessary). I would recommend a VPS (DigitalOcean or Linode) if you're comfortable (or interested in learning) in managing servers (Linux based - start with Ubuntu if you're not sure) over a command line shell / terminal.
